Had a Sunday lunch meal here today. Food is very good, a big selection of veg and choice of either pork or turkey as the meat. All cooked to perfection, selection of various desserts, can recomend the salted caramel meringue, provided you still have room for it. Or the fruit pie and custard or perhaps the syrup pudding as an alternate, no photos but the banana split is also good

What a great find, a proper pub!|From the moment we walked through the door we felt most welcome. Food prices were way below anywhere else but it didn't detract from the quality. Real value for money. Both bar and restaurant staff warm and friendly. If I'm in the area again it's going to be be my go to location.

Very friendly and accommodating staff(Matt & Sam & Karen) My partner and I had suffered an attack in our own home and thought to venture out after 4 days & ended up here! We're so glad we did!
Although many drinks were had, it made us feel better and The Ship Inn is a place where you are welcome. Top all round 🌹🌞

Staff were so accommodating, letting us check in hours early with no notice, so we could get into our rooms before a wedding. Classic English Pub downstairs, and such nice rooms. Lots of nice touches like free milk in the minibar, coffee and tea. And very affordable. Would definitely stay again

Known this pub for some time, great beer, lovely staff. The recent refurb of the bedrooms is fabulous, comfy beds and pillows (got to find out where they buy them) spacious and well appointed, clean and plenty of tea, coffees etc. Cannot fault it

I stayed at the Ship Hotel Monday to Friday from April 2020 until April 2022 for work purposes.||In that time I cannot think of one single time where anything has been an issue. My room was the same room each and every stay, which made life so much easier. The room I had was the one that was not facing the main road, so noise was not an issue in the slightest. It also helps being 3 floors up away from the bar as well, so you won’t hear any noise even if a sporting event is on.||The shower always had good water pressure, the bed was always comfy and the room was always spotless on the first night. ||In the room was a good sized TV, a fridge and a microwave as well as the usual kettle and drinks making facilities you would expect.||Please do not see this place as a “trades” hotel, as it really is so much more. Fine, the parking can be a pain in the backside, but there’s a well lit and safe parking area down the road a little. But there is usually ample parking just outside the hotel, if you are planning to be out by 0845 in the morning.||The food, which is available every night is outstanding. And again, nothing is too much of an issue. The bar itself is clean, inviting and very well stocked. The clientele, are lovely and not the rowdy kind.||But the main draw to this lovely hotel is the staff and owners. I have never been to a place so inviting and caring in all my years… they have looked after me while I had to self isolate, they have stayed on to cook meals because I was running a little late, but most of all, they truly became friends.||If you are looking for a hotel that will treat you with the kindness and compassion that Devon people are famous for, loom no further. This is an absolute jewel!||Next time my family and I are going to Exeter, I already have plans for where we will stay.
