Popped in for dinner on a midweek evening and were really happy with our experience. The staff were really friendly, the menu was very reasonable, and the food was really tasty! My only suggestion would be a few more meat free choices on the menu, but otherwise its spot on!

We stopped for a few pints and some food on our bike ride.
The owner was more than happy to let us place our bikes in the pub garage whilst we had some fantastic ales and the most amazing pasta!
I would recommend to anyone

We stopped in the pub for an evening meal. The staff were really friendly and helpful, as were most of the people drinking at the bar! The food was simple but really well done. The highlight for me was the chips which were clearly freshly made (not frozen) and beautifully cooked and seasoned to perfection. Would definitely come back again.

What a great find, Acomb is slightly off the main Hadrians wall path, but a lovely little village. The Sun inn is owned by a really friendly Italian couple. The Inn is on the Main Street and very dog friendly, people friendly too, hosts & regulars alike. |I ate here both nights, with my black lab. |I had pasta dishes both nights. Portions very generous and sauce both nights really tasty, but the pasta is the true star 🌟 Freshly made by the owner himself, would definitely recommend this place anytime you are in the area.

Only visited to eat so cannot rate the rooms.
The service was excellent, friendly and welcoming, the other customers/ regulars were also friendly. The steak and ale pie chips and sticky toffee pudding were brilliant. Highly recommend. Good prices too.

I had such a great two night stay at this pub/b&b. It's run by a lovely couple for whom nothing was too much trouble. Extremely comfy bed, good shower, excellent breakfast, and located in the cute village of Acomb which is about a 5 minute drive (or a 40min walk) from Hexham.

Chose this place over the Travelodge in Hexham and was definitely worth it. Would highly recommend.

Just had a fabulous Sunday lunch. Really good quality home cooked food. Tender meat and lots of different vegetables all cooked to perfection. Able to park outside no problem and a good selection of real ales. Nice village pub. Will definitely return
