We stayed 4 nights with Brian, Margaret and Bertie the dog (who had me sussed as a animal lover and enjoyed lots of cuddles) on our weekend away. They are a wonderful couple and had a very relaxing comfortable stay with them. It's like a home from home and we didn't want to leave. Nothing is a problem and even when we got lost and didn't arrive till the early hours they had left the light on for us and made us feel so welcome in the morning. Margaret's home made bread and chocolate cake are amazing ☺️ Highly recommend them and have booked to stay again in July. Lovely walks and a great pub down the road.

From the time of arrival to the day we left Margaret and Brian made their home most welcoming to us. Even Bertie the spaniel seemed excited to meet us.||We arrived at 10pm after a 6.5hr journey on a Bank Holiday Friday and even at this time Margaret still made us a pot of tea with home made shortbread. She showed us around and said that the one end of the house was for us - lounge and conservatory.||Bedroom was spotless although with no ensuite the bathroom was next door and for our sole use. Fresh milk was provided for our tea in our room. ||Breakfast was around their kitchen table and freshly cooked on the AGA. Home made bread and jams were also provided. The cooked breakfast was delicious. We were even allowed to keep our wine in their fridge for drinking later when we returned to the house at the of the day. The bed was extremely comfortable and beautifully made up. The room was very large with plenty of storage space.||They both gave us lots of information about the area and where we were going to visit. ||Margaret and Brian are so friendly and helpful, I would say that they are probably the best B&B owners we have stayed in.

Margaret and Brian took care of every little detail throughout our stay. Margaret kindly dried a heap of soggy coats, jackets and boots after we came back from a very wet but very enjoyable walk in the superb countryside around their beautiful home. They could not have been more helpful and welcoming. ||The house is in a wonderful area and there is no need to drive anywhere in order to have a lovely walk and explore in pretty much every direction from the house.

My wife and I were on a 9 week holiday in the UK in August and stayed in many B & B's during our trip but Dene House was by far and away the best. Margaret & Brian (& Bertie) made us feel so welcome it was a home away from home. The tea and cake on arrival was most welcome after a long drive and the breakfast was magnificent. My husband and I needed a place to stay in Hexham because we were visiting friends there. This B&B is charming and run by an interesting couple who are most friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, with twin beds and bathroom ensuite, and our hosts made us feel as if we were visiting old friends. It is located in a picturesque village and we had a quiet night's sleep. Our hostess was dismayed that we wanted only a simple breakfast!

We recently stayed with Brian and Margaret whilst attending the Fell Pony Performance Trials and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. We found Brian and Margaret very welcoming and their home spotless and very comfortable. We would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

This was a not a hotel. It was a bed and breakfast with three rooms and a lounge. The tarrif for one night for two adults was £75. The hosts were very friendly and the room and house were excellent. Unfortunately the breakfast was poor for the tarrif paid. My wife's scrambled egg was nearly inedible. The choice was very limited and my portion was meagre.
