Lovely warm pub with tasty food. Good portions - we had baked salmon in a red pepper and chorizo sauce - delicious!! Would have liked a dessert but nothing gluten free.
Good wine too.

Wasn’t a hotel guest but a diner. We had a lovely lunch outdoors next to the sheep grazing area. You should do this on a clear sunny day. Eating indoors means you’re wasting the sunlight.

We loved the food: the Spanish style chicken, fish & chips, tikka masala, mushroom pies. The price was reasonable too.

It's a lovely pub, in a lovely place... great atmosphere and great views.
However, no low acohol-beers, just one 0.5% lager... and that was sold to me as a 'beer'. And we were moved from the bar area, as we were 5 people and only 4 were allowed on the table we sat on. Not allowed to move a chair!!! We didn't stop to eat!

Very mixed. ||Pros. Without question, all of the staff were friendly. The pub atmosphere was good and there was a wide selection of beers. The food in pub was very good, and varied, too. It’s in a great location.||Cons. In a word: management. Very dirty room. Lots of accumulated dust and dirt on the skirting and radiator, and underneath the lamps and around the beds. Unacceptable level of ‘cleanliness’. They replace your towels if you wish, and replenish your tea and coffee, but that’s it. They can’t even make - or cover up - the bed. The breakfasts are nothing to write home about. You must eat it in a one-hour window only - not clear why. Sauce bottle tops were very sticky and not wiped; pepper mills barely worked (and you will need pepper to add flavour your breakfast!)Their “smashed avocado” with feta was merely a halved barely ripe avocado on some soggy undercooked supermarket sliced toast (they obvs lost the recipe for toast!) and no feta in sight. All toast was just slightly tinted bread! Coffee very ordinary.

We ate lunch in Bankes Arms after a lovely walk out to Old Harry.|Menu only main courses - all very expensive.|Food only made in microwave apart from chips. |Food came luck warm first time - sent back, one only like warm again and they didn't return the vegetables.|Mine was a very poor meal for £18.95. Few bits of meat in masses of sauce, loads of chips and small corn on the cob.|Definitely won't be eating there again.

Nice and cosy. Great coffee, chips were also delicious. It was cold and wet outside, so that was the biggest pleasure to sit in a nice and warm place. Toilets are clean.

Visited Bankes Arms yesterday. Not aware that they were serving food all day, as their website says from 6pm. We sat outside under the covered area, as our dog is not the most well behaved in pubs. It was quite chilly and although there was a wood burning stove it hadn't been lit. Somewhere warm to sit near would have been lovely. The lighting was also very dim so we could hardly see what we were eating. We did enjoy our meal tbough, the food was very nice. Just a bit of thoughtfulness would have made a lot of difference.

Amazing view, nice staff and good atmosphere. Good food and portion sizes. Local cider and beer options. Parking close by and the perfect place to stop after the hike up to Harry Rocks. As someone visiting the area, it was a lovely surprise.
