This hotel situated just off the A37 between Yeovil and Dorchester is a hidden gem. We used to pass it on our way to and from Weymouth. The Arcadia Spa is located within the hotel and i have been there twice now ( see separate review) This review is about the amazing afternoon tea that my Friend snd i enjoyed after our Spa session which just added to our girls trip out. The hotel staff are just really lovely, very welcoming and helpful. They are all a real credit to the hotel especially Stephen. We know that the masterminds behind the afternoon teas were Tom and Luke. Even if you dont go to the Spa, its worth the trip for the afternoon tea. Beautiful sandwiches, cakes and chocolates and an excellent price. Its my second time here and I will be back. Thank you everyone

The George Albert Hotel was a real gem. Nestled in the Dorset countryside the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very well appointed and have plenty of space. Ours had a bistro table and chairs, as well as a small sofa and desk with a chair. Food was fantastic, prepared by head chef Tom and his team. We also loved the Arcadia spa, run by Michelle. Treatments were extremely relaxing and plenty of space to chill out (or warm up in the thermal suite). All in all a wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary. There are also great functions rooms for conferences, seminars, weddings and parties.

This was probably the fourth time we had stayed at the George Albert. We have always enjoyed our stay and no different this time. The staff are so very friendly and accommodating. The Chef also happily amended the menu to accommodate my diet requirements. Its ideally located for visiting all the places we wanted to see. We hope to return again in the future.

Everything about the hotel was first class. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the food was wonderful and the staff friendly and helpful.|What a find and we only stopped by because of heavy snow in the area. Despite our unannounced arrival all staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

This was our first time visiting The George Albert Hotel and Spa. I was able to book a table for 2 for the Sunday Carvery easily over the telephone. On arrival we were greeted by the General Manager Stephen, who was smartly dressed I a suit, polite and down to earth. He showed us to our table and pulled my chair out for me - a true gent!|The service staff were dressed smartly and took our drink order straight away and gave us our Carvery ticket.|Beef and Pork were the meats available, I had both and my husband had beef - both were delicious. The chef/server was chatty and smiley. There was a good selection of vegetables to accompany the fluffy, crispy roasties - swede and carrot mash, roasted parsnips, very cheesy cauliflower cheese, green beans and parsnip puree. The Yorkshire puddings were divine as was the rich, tastey gravy. There was even pork crackling and parsnip crisps! We didn't have a dessert as we were too full up but they looked delicious!|An excellent Sunday Roast for ÂŖ18.50 each in very clean and well decorated hotel with very attentive, happy staff. Stephen gave us a tour of the hotel and it is definitely somewhere we would like to stay and try out the spa.

Staff were attentive and friendly but discrete. They worked hard keeping the coffee topped up and tables cleared quickly. Lovely airy atmosphere with plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by. Wish I'd had time to check out the spa. Easily accessible from Dorchester and Yeovil. Plenty of parking. I would be pleased to book this for an event or an overnight stop.
