Our stay was idyllic. The location of the Dale House Barn and B & B in deepest Bowland is perfect. There's plenty of great walking from the front door and lots of lovely places to visit in the car or on wheels. The room was beautifully furnished, very comfortable and extremely clean. The optional evening meals were spectacular using local produce which Dominique has foraged, preserved and grown. She is an exceptionally skilled hostess and every mouthful was delicious. Breakfast choices were fantastic too. An absolutely wonderful place to stay.

We had a lovely weekend, Dale House itself is in a really peaceful/beautiful spot and such a great place to spend a few nights. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable.

Dominique really is an amazing chef, the food was very special and we left wanting more. She also gave us lots of great tips about stuff to do in the local area which was super useful. We also really enjoyed getting to know all her dogs!

We'll definitely go back.

We recently did a one day bread making course with Dominique and it was absolutely fantastic! She was a fantastic host, we had a stupendous lunch and left with bags of confidence. We took home a huge bounty of goods and feeling inspired to do some baking at home. Really recommend it to anyone thinking of learning about bread making.

Just spent 3 nights B&B here while battling the weather to walk the Ribble Valley Jubilee Trail. The room was great and the beds very comfortable and it was about the only place for miles around with a phone signal and WiFi! Lovely breakfasts set us up for the day and Dominique and her mad dogs gave us a warm welcome. Thank you!

I had the most amazing and enjoyable day on Sunday 20th August on the bread-making course that Dominique runs .

The information provided beforehand and the tuition on the day was first class as was the hospitality.

The venue and location are excellent .

Everyone loves what we made that day. There were a wide variety of techniques to try and it was a very friendly and fun atmosphere.

I would definitely recommend and can’t wait to book my next course .

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated royally by the owner Dominique. She is an excellent host, who was on hand to advise us re the area, what to etc. We were there for the New Year and having read the previous reviews booked 2 evening meals. The food was excellent. Dominique is keen on using local suppliers and knows the provenance of all of her ingredients. The bedrooms were well appointed and had all the comforts of home, including fresh milk and home made biscuits. Her breakfasts were well cooked and included eggs from her chickens, home-made bread and jams etc. We were so impressed that we have booked the same period this year and all a stay in the summer. Do not hesitate in booking, you will not be disappointed.

I booked this for my stag do, which was a load of mountain bikers to take advantage of the closeness of the bike trial of Gisburn. The whole experience was brilliant, the hosts were very accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent.

We found this lovely place a bit by accident and so were unaware of the actual culinary superstar we were staying with.
We wanted to get out of London and breathe and this place and its location allows this in spades. It sort of hangs on to the side of the Forest of Bowland before you hit the reservoir and the surrounding countryside you drive through to get there is simply outstanding.
Prior to our stay I had a few questions and we had come straight off a very wet Lake District visit with the attendant soggy clothes! Dominique was super responsive with getting back to me and was so kind as to let us do a wash and get everything sorted.
Dominique and Andrew were really genuine hosts with a huge local knowledge of walks, rides, things to see and were happy to spend time talking about this and giving us ideas of what to do which as first time visitors was much appreciated.
We made the initial decision to eat at Dale House Barn on Sunday night and after this there was no question we would eat there every night - there was no reason not to. Every night we had locally sourced ingredients made in to the most delicious meals. Knowing the provenance of the food is important to us and it is a key ethos of Dale House Barn. I am not a massive eater of game (or so I thought) but under Dominique's steady hand I was happy to try which was rewarded with really spectacular flavours. Breakfast as you would expect was top-notch and a great start to the day.
The rooms are comfortable and perfect for a short stay, the shower is hot and high pressure which is what you want after a long day walking or cycling.
We enjoyed our time here thoroughly and would go back in a heartbeat.
