Just a box standard Premier Inn room nothing too fancy, however, it was clean tidy and smelt quite nice, as always beds and pillows very comfortable. I had no noisy children or groups of people in the corridors making a noise, reception staff nice however I arrived 45 minutes early for my room and they wanted to charge me Ā£15 to gain access, even though the room was readyā€¦. Unfortunately, this hotel does not have a restaurant or breakfast location within therefore, you have to walk outside in the cold and rain next door to the local beef eater, which is now a bit dated see my review for the beef eater. Overall pleasant location plenty of eateries around and a big Tesco if you need any last-minute bits.

We arrived at 14.20. The room was ready but we weren't allowed to check in until 15.00 or pay Ā£10 for the extra 30 minutes. I raised this with the Manager whose response was 'It's company policy'. I use Premier Inn regularly for work in a number of locations, never had that said to me before. Told him that. Same response from the Manager 'Well they are all breaking company policy'. What they are actually doing is 'managing' and keeping their customers happy. Not just wearing a badge that says 'Manager' and upsetting regular customers for the sake of 30 minutes. Petty and shabby. That's me finished with Premier Inn just on that basis. |We ate in the restaurant that evening. They had run out of 'Beer Battered fish'. Strangely later on it came back on the menu after a staff member popped on to Tesco frozen aisle to get some. Then literally just warmed up. Cold mushy peas. Literally for that hour the ratio of staff to tables was 1:1 and it was still a disorganised shambles. Breakfast the next morning. A substantial number of customers. 2 staff who were more interested in giggling and chatting than the state of the buffet. No Alpen, no bread or croissants, fruit empty. Why did I need to tell them to refill things? Don't they notice? Another fabulous Manager response 'We've run out of Alpen'. That was his entire defence. Although strangely when I walked back round to the buffet a large box of Alpen had appeared. |I should say something good. I booked a Premier Plus room which was quite pleasant. Shame that didn't have the 'Slightly early check in' included for the extra I paid.

I arrived at the Premier Inn at 6pm on Saturday 4th January, having booked a meal deal. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. The room was cold and not up to scratchā€¦ However! My true experience was about to beginā€¦ I immediately checked in at the restaurant to be told by a rude lady that I needed to book a table. The restaurant only had 2 tables occupiedā€¦ I arrived at 6:25 to be kept waiting for 10 minutes. No staff members available. Then a male member of staff passing by told me to take a seat before disappearing. Another member of staff arrived to take my order. I was then told that most of the menu was not available. He explained that the Premier Inn was ā€˜shockingly terrible for letting down their customersā€™ ā€¦ He expanded on a few issues that rang alarm bellsā€¦ I had to eat at the Pizza Hut nearby.|I was staying in a Premier Plus room that was not up to its usual standardā€¦ No water in the fridge and only a 2 finger Kit-Kat on the sideā€¦ not the usual Green & Blacks chocolate. I arrived for breakfast the following morningā€¦ No buffet, no Alpenā€¦ The chef said they didnā€™t have enough customers or food for a buffet. He expanded on supply issues and said they were having to go to the local Tesco to buy items. Seriously, I could write a novel on my experience but Iā€™m not wasting my time. Iā€™ve had the same experience in Whitehaven on Sunday. The company doesnā€™t care and your failing your staff and customersā€¦

Have had a lovely few nights away staying at several Premier Inns along the South coast. We loved our stay at Portsmouth North Harbour. Friendly staff and lovely clean rooms. Great food at the beefeater. Ideal location for traveling through Portsmouth as well as doing some things in and around the city. Will be back!

Just lovely staff. Clean comfortable and large room. Good value. Free WIFI works but is slow. Simple things such as the windows actually open and sheets are real cotton are pleasing. Decent shower and bettter towels than I would have hoped for at this price. Proper kettle in room and good tea and coffee. No fridge.

just returned from a great stay. Very clean, comfortable hotel, family room a generous size with a bath and shower. Extra pillows available in the room too. Staff were fantastic, very polite, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast great value for money with the cooked option and kids eat free. Great location in Port Solent, just a short car journey away from Gunwharf Quay.

I stayed here overnight for New Yearā€™s Eve and was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was extremely welcoming and the check-in was quick and seamless. Our room was spacious and clean and came equipped with USB charging ports by the beds which added a nice touch of convenience. The bathroom was also spotless. Despite the occasion, the hotel was not overly packed, which created a peaceful atmosphere and added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. Considering the price of just over Ā£25 per person, I believe our stay offered great value for money. Although it was only a one-night visit, our experience with this hotel was truly pleasant and I would gladly return in the future.
