It felt pretty much like an incomplete project. It had so much potential like the bathrooms were completed to a very high standard however the rooms and the lobby and even the reception was literally not completed. If it is a 24-hour reception, why is there a door in front of it saying "staff only"? This led to me being lost a few times trying to find the place. Also, I felt really embarrassed as I was given a keycard for room 36 and this was not my room at all, I was actually meant to be in room 44! I don't particularly understand why in the lobby you had this red carpet and then further towards the reception you had literally skirting board as the flooring? The shower looked stunning except the temperature gauge wasn't working. This led to a very cold shower. The bed? No. Too thin a mattress and you need to teach the cleaning staff to clean UNDER the mattress. I do advice you to check any mattress and you'll see it covered in hair, dead skin, and insects. The noise. Like, what?! It was ridiculous. I am profoundly deaf but with the hearing aids on it literally sounds like a horror film! That doorbell buzzing, the random screaming and doors banging and people trying to get into your room and banging on walls. It's fair to say I didn't sleep all that well. It felt like a very cold place, there was no love in that building and it showed. Vending machines were not switched on and even so it was coin-operated and not contactless. No window in the room. It felt very stuffy and the air conditioning was....it was clearly built for a bigger room !

Hostel type accommodation with cold water.|Difficult to find Hotel as there was no sign, believed it was closedown when I finally found it.Had to check in at Earlhams hotel next door, the Manager was friendly |Shocked to finally arrive in my room, thin dirty carpet, no curtains, cold, sheet covering bed, no facility to make drink, no wardrobe, no towels,no chair. Just a bed in my £60 room|Same price as Premier Inn .|I stayed there waiting for towels but left, after not feeling safe, and the car was a better option |Very poor and can not recommend

This place is simply awful. Do not stay here, we were meant to stay last night and walked out straight after walking in. The room was damp, mouldy, it stunk, had chewing gum stuck in the carpet, the bed was filthy, it hadn't even been made properly. The windows were black and dirty. ||It was horrific. We booked through hotels.com and I'll be complaining first thing Monday morning and asking for a refund as we had to find another hotel at extremelylate notice. This hotel is basically a hostel for immigrants. It's also meant to be non smoking and that's all we could smell. ||You've been warned, do not stay there. We took a gamble after reading the reviews, it's a dump.

The reception was a little hard to find as it was in the old building, but the lady moved above and beyond for us. The hotel is currently being refurbished and we had one of the newer rooms. I was really worried at first and when I got there was so glad, great value for money and very clean. Got a little cold at night could’ve done with a better heating system, and no mugs in the room! If you want a drink you need to bring a cup. But overall was very happy with the stay! These reviews need an update!

Stayed there last night for a night out in Norwich (cheaper than taxi) you need to forget about the old reviews. This place is now under new management and the guy that runs it is really helpful and a nice guy. Really clean room, clean sheets, small fridge, private en suite bathroom with shower, electric card key to enter our room. Really can't fault this place. Not a hostel anymore. Will be staying again. Hopefully this place will get some new reviews as it really deserves it.

Enjoyed our stay here, we booked at very short notice, and it met our needs.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and were available at all hours.
The room was quite basic but comfortable. It definitely had more character than a Travelodge! And the self contained apartment style gave us a lot of freedom to come & go as we pleased and cater for ourselves.

Terrible. Room smelt awful and hadn't been properly clean, evidenced by the dirty socks in the bathroom from a previous occupant. Shower was coming off the wall and took about 5 minutes to warm up. Door to the bathroom hanging off hinges. Holes in the walls. Someone screaming to be let in to the hotel at 5 in the morning. I stay in Norwich regularly but will never return to this hotel. Only good thing was the staff were friendly.

Me and family have just returned from the cathedral hotel after going down to see friends and to watch out football team. We live in Leeds and travelled to norwich when we arrived one of the rooms had not been serviced and smelt of smoke so it finally got serviced and we couldn't find the other room for me and my husband so we had to go back to reception to ask where our room was.||It's was a hole rather than a room there was no window in it at all.||And when the person had serviced my daughters room she had left the window open to get rid of the smell. Our room was very cold as well and in the morning my husband when to go and speak to the manager to say what was wrong with the rooms ' he said I wouldn't put my dog in that hotel ' and he agreed it's should be condemned and for one night only it cost us £120 the worse thing is all of are disabled in one way or another.
