Didn't stay so no comment re accommodation. Had a Sunday carvery. Lovely atmosphere. Thought the hospitality was exceptional, from walking through the door, to being shown our table onwards. Liked the touch of water being already provided on the tables. The food was nice and more than plentiful with the gravy stuffing, in my experience, unique. Would definitely be going again.

We ate here yesterday and the food was to die for ❤️ so many lovely meals to choose from. It took us a while to decide. We was not disappointed. We will certainly be back soon. To try some thing else. Lovely staff and Pub/restaurant. If you’re looking for a restaurant… it gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from us. We have eaten at a few restaurants In Bawtry, but this one in Austerfield 5 mins away blows you away with the delightful menu !!

Couple in our 50s staying in the Home farm Lodge next door for the night so decided to book in here for dinner. All we can say is wow absolutely beautiful food , the starters of prawn cocktail and garlic bread were the best I have tasted !! Husband had the steak which he said was amazing and I had the pork belly , delicious!! Staff were so friendly and attentive , when we are back in the area we will definitely book again.

Fantastic place with great design and atmosphere on the inside.
Went there with a baby. Plenty of space for a prom. Great menu and amazing food. Owners are fantastic, very friendly and attentive. Felt very homely. Prices are good too. Parking is a big bonus.

We found this pub after recommendations from friends a couple of months back and were initially put off by the 'no booking' for Sunday carvery lunch, and closure each Monday/Tuesday. Eventually found opportunity to visit, and it is really excellent - since our first visit we must have been half a dozen times for Sunday lunch or evening meals. Although no bookings taken on Sundays, it is not a problem - so far we've always been seated almost immediately. Staff are so friendly and helpful - and owner Chris is almost a cabaret act in himself! Menus are wide ranging, so there's always something to choose - Amazing Sticky Chicken my favourite, lasagne my wife's; gammon was great too, as were mussels (not all on the same day!). These really are Yorkshire portions - be warned: you will not manage starter, main and dessert. Prices very acceptable - and large car park behind the pub. A couple of minutes from the centre of Bawtry, 20 minutes from central Doncaster. A very definite recommendation - well worth the detour! Only complaint - staff don't seem to acknowledge or respond to these reviews...

Walked in to be nicely greeted and offered drinks, pint of cider was completely flat. The staff were very attentive to be fair to them. The menu did look very impressive with some really different bits. |The starters were completely bland and the only thing you could taste was the dripping old oil used to fry with which left a vial aftertaste. My main was the ‘amazing’ sticky chicken, which consisted of southern fried chicken strips tossed around in some sweet chilli sauce- disappointing to say the least, the rice was soggy and incredibly starchy. The other main was the chicken Parmesan which once again was bland, uninspiring and completely underwhelming- salt and pepper certainly goes amiss in this kitchen. We were left hungry all for £60. Real shame as the place could be fantastic…

This evening we have been to the Mayflower, Austerfield near Bawtry about half an hours drive from Doncaster city centre. They have a great menu with lots of choice including several different fish and seafood dishes and portions are very generous too.|Starters tonight were garlic mushrooms with Stilton, and prawn cocktail (served in a wine glass and upended at the table).|Main courses were Seafood Surprise Basket (scampi, whitebait and calamari served with chips, peas and tartar sauce; and salmon teriyaki.|Dessert was salted caramel ice cream cake (and just coffee for the wimps!!)|Everything was freshly cooked, beautifully presented and utterly delicious - why can’t all pub-restaurants have such great quality food?!!|Thank you Chris and your staff - we had a lovely evening!

Can't say that we were over impressed. Nice enough place, but let down with the quality of the carvery. I'm left waiting at the carvery without so much as an apology for our wait.
Veg wasn't very inviting carrots cabbage mash. Had to wait for cauliflower cheese.
Nice enough place. Grill prices look OK, and we have said we would go back to try.
