Excellent place in the very back of the garden centre. Passed through whilst cycling…a bit of a long walk through with the bike but wasn’t too bad.
The food is good and the cakes are lovely too. The staff are friendly and very accommodating if you want to change or add anything to a meal.
Seating was good and the decor was welcoming. Very pricey though so don’t expect low prices.

Went here today for brunch, food and atmosphere were lovely! Service was great! Prefer this to the main restaurant in the garden centre! The hot chocolate and the full breakfast were delicious! Had also a kids breakfast and they were able to accommodate by changing the pork sausages to a veggie sausage!

We really enjoy dining at The Courtyard Coffee Shop. The service is great, the ladies are so very friendly and are happy to answer any questions. It’s a sit down service, but pay at the till when you’re done. We had pots of tea and sweet treats for this occasion, very tasty.

Today, my wife and I experienced one of the most upsetting and unforgettable moments of our lives. We went to this coffee shop around 1:30 PM and, after waiting, found an available table. Just as we were about to sit, two white customers approached us, told us to leave the table for them, and quickly sat down before we could. Shocked by their audacity and they said if we want to share the table they would welcome us. we decided to speak to the manager about what had happened.

I explained to the manager that we had been waiting patiently, saw the table first, and reached it before the other customers, who then demanded we give it up to them or they would welcome us. Instead of addressing the situation or speaking to the other customers, the manager laughed and told us there was no queue—essentially saying that whoever sits first gets the table. I pointed out that we had reached the table first and were unfairly treated, but he refused to acknowledge this. The other customers even had the nerve to say us they would “welcome us to share the table” as if they were doing us a favor. And then they shout on us and said 'piss off'. The issue is not finding a table the issue what we lived in their coffe shop and how come other customers can say us to leave our table to them as we were before them.

I then told the manager that his behavior felt blatantly discriminatory, as he seemed to favor the other customers simply because they were white. and i guess we were the only non white customers at that moment. I asked if we were being treated this way (he even did not try to speak to the other customers) because we were not white while my wife was in tears. As an answer, Instead of showing any empathy, he defended other customers with a smile on his face again. and when we said we will write a review about the racism we lived today here he simply said write it. We left the coffee shop in tears, deeply hurt and humiliated.

I have lived in this country for six years and have never lived racisim or accused anyone of racism before. However, what happened today was undeniable, and it has left both my wife and me traumatized. We are devastated by the blatant racism we experienced and the lack of basic respect and fairness shown to us. This experience has shaken us to our core. I would never imagine we would be in this kind of situation ever.

I visit alot of coffee shops, and never have I seen a place with such potential.
The settings are beautiful.
With low beams, a spacious room, and comfortable chairs, they have it all.
The confusion starts from when you walk in, with a sign that says wait to be seated, then you stand there whilst you're then told to find your own table..
The entrance and exit area are too narrow as well, with people pushing past a table placed near the door.
We then waited 21 minutes for our drinks to be served and 26 minutes for a sandwich.
Needless to say, the couple at the table next to us actually got up and left, as they couldn't wait any longer.
Payment is done at the till by the counter, which then entails another queue, also .... blocking the Isle whilst you're awkwardly standing next to other people's tables waiting to pay.

It simply needs organising, and maybe more staff !!
I wouldn't return.

Charming little coffee shop and cafe, tucked right up at the top of the garden centre site. Service was quick and friendly, and our light lunch was nice, although slightly on the expensive side.

I recently visited The Courtyard Coffee Shop, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a treat. The staff were warm, welcoming, and provided excellent service throughout my visit.

The highlight of my experience was the incredible banoffee pie pudding—it was absolutely heavenly! The balance of flavors and textures was spot on, and it’s easily one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. I also appreciated the attention to detail with their loose-leaf tea, which was rich and aromatic, and served with care. To top it all off, the fresh orange juice was a refreshing complement to my meal, bursting with natural flavor.

The Courtyard Coffee Shop is a gem, offering not only top-notch food and drinks but also a genuinely pleasant experience thanks to their wonderful staff. I highly recommend stopping by, especially if you’re in the mood for an amazing dessert and a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Five stars all the way!

Here on a bank holiday. Staff did advise us before seating us that there would be approx 30 min wait for food - which was fine. I think setting customers expectations at the start is important! So we appreciated that. The staff were very friendly and were trying to be as efficient as possible given the place was totally packed.

The place is lovely. Gorgeous period features, log burner, wooden beams.

Food was very tasty. As was the cake hubby had for afters!

Overall we really enjoyed our first time here and would definitely come back. The other review here is far too harsh!
