Awful experience. Shower came apart when turned on in first room causing me to slip in a very slippery shower pan and hurt myself.|Room was infested with flies, when I sat on the bed they all took off, manager thought it might be the mattress but laughed and said "I'll evict them. They haven't paid" they changed our room as they knew that room (115) has a problem with flies. Manager couldn't understand why we were given the room. We are both disabled but were moved upstairs to room 223. In this room there was black mould in shower cubicle and hair clogging the plug hole so water took forever to drain away. A screw sticking out of floor which I assume was being used as a door stop but would make quite a mess of a foot were it to be accidentally kicked. The light fixtures above the bed were thick with dust and looked like they had never been cleaned and only one light worked but if you pushed the bulb up a bit it came on and as soon as i took my hand away it went off again. Sour smell in rooms the manager said she thought it was the drains as they had a problem. The heat in the rooms is unbearable and with the smell and flies it was like something out of a horror movie. Most of the place appears to be occupied by people of less unfortunate circumstances. And because of that there is a 24/7 security guard. The breakfast is reasonably priced at £3.50 but the apple juice was so bad and came out in jelly chunks. The corridors were filthy and were in dire need of a good vacuuming. I'm sad to say that in all my days, and I'm 61, I have never stayed in such a sewage dump as the Primelodge Doncaster. STAY AWAY.

I recently stayed here as i was being placed here by local authority, where do i start. The temperature differential on the taps and showers in the building are an utter joke i burnt myself countless times because my tap or shower would start spraying out molten lava instantly all of a sudden, i have also caught staff members letting themselves into rooms unannounced one of them being my own, the building on a night stinks of crack cocaine up to a point i have to where a face mask sometimes just to block out the smell of crack, dead animals and urine, the electrical side of things in the building are a laughing matter also i had times where staff members would make their way round the rooms because people were rigging the light switches to conduct heat so they can smoke! Up to a point where they have now BANNED ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL DEVICES NOT SUPLLIED BY THE HOTEL. All in all the entire place is a failure they house drug abusers that have no signs of respect, in my personal opinion even jesus couldnt give this place forgivness. AVOID PRIME LODGE AT ALL COSTS

Do not stay at this cracking den unless you enjoy hearing constant slamming of doors all night, daily junkie fights and a bed that's held together with masking tape. The place is an absolute joke total lack of respect for people who might actually want to sleep at night and that's just the staff. I'd recommend sleeping in the cemetery next to it before I'd recommend anyone stays at this hotel

We checked in for a last minute stopover.| We didn't expect much for the price. GOOD JOB!!| The room was very dated, with peeling paint and plaster coming off the walls. | When getting changed, we noticed that the curtains didn't cover the whole windows, and being on the ground floor, we felt rather exposed. | We then went to use the shower, which we couldn't as the cold tap wouldn't turn on, and the hot water was scolding hot. By this time, we had enough and left.| We reported this to reception and was told the manager would call us in the morning. We wait with baited breath and will not return.

I said here last Aug with my partner. We were going to a friends wedding and it was only place available due to Doncaster races taking most places. We thought we were lucky... we would be very mistaken.

Good points
- The front desk staff were helpful, friendly and kind.
- Breakfast did have a good range of items. Although there was a list saying what each guest had "alotted" to them.
- Bed was comfortable to sleep in.

Bad points
- room was dusty and dirty, the shower had bad mould and limescale and the shower head fell on me while I used it.
- The walls had what looked like blood stains (maybe paint) on them.
- The heater was broken, it being Aug it wasn't bad for us but in colder month would be clearly bad.
- No net curtain on ground floor, we left curtain open to have light in room. We thought that as we were around back it would be oki. Nope, some man appear walking around and could have seen me drying off from my shower. We then kept curtain closed.
- Toaster wasn't clean and smoke from it set of the fire alarm.
- Found that some of the white bread was mouldy. Staff took it way after we mentioned it and we got new bread.

We have come to call this place "Doncatraz" and is only good if you need a place to crash for a night.

Please avoid this place, you will regret a lot if you come here especially if you want to rest. You first enter a small box that doesn't even have a window to see if it's day or night, the other thing is that you can't sleep, they are constantly shouting in the rooms and no one notices them because literally crazy people live here, drug addicts, weed addicts, banging on the doors in the corridors run and chase each other with one word mess, these are not guests of the hotel, these are mess people who live here permanently.

Before booking I was a little hesitant as some of the reviews where somewhat non favourable. However what relief it was when I arrived to find my room clean and comfortable. The double booked for £48 had all the amenities you would expect from a central hotel. The location was good for central Doncaster and easy walkable. Upon arriving the manager asked if I required a towel as I was wet through with the rain. The check in lady was polite and had all my information ready. The manager showed me to my room helping with my bag and he gave me directions on how to get into the town centre. The bed was clean and the towels fresh. The water temperature could of been a little hotter and the breakfast selection greater. I declined breakfast as was meeting colleagues. For the rate of the room I strongly recommend this hotel. Its cheap and chearful yet clean and has a personal touch with customers.

Definitely not my definition of a hotel, but here goes:||Pros: Close to where I needed to be for work. Check in was quick & easy; receptionist (Gemma?) was cheerful and helpful. Unlike some other comments, the room, towels & bedding seemed generally clean. Water was hot, with good pressure. WiFi was free, quick & stable. ||Cons: as mentioned in other reviews, this is a half-way house, rather than a hotel. Most of the other residents seemed to fit this category, although I tried not to look too closely. However, I wouldn’t have minded this (people have to go somewhere) if the rooms had better soundproofing. As it stood, I was kept awake past 1am by people walking the corridors, talking (and not loudly) and seemingly rearranging furniture in the room above me. The layout is very cheap and basic, bed uncomfortable and with a noisy mattress protector installed. ||In short, if you absolutely must have the cheapest room in Doncaster, can sleep however uncomfortable you are and wear earplugs to sleep, then you can get by here. Me, I’ll spend a bit more (and read reviews) next time and stay somewhere else.
