Went here for the first time in many years. The hotel has been done up very nicely and still had lovely Christmas Decorations up. Food was excellent with a good choice and the Sunday lunch was very good. Staff were very nice and our only slight issue was service was a little slow and there was a small mix up over our order. We would definitely recommend though.

We have just spent Christmas at the Haycock which was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees, lights, swags and even an automated Alpine model village. We have been so impressed with everything. We needed to bring our dog with us and every hotel I tried refused dogs in the restaurant. However the Haycock actively welcomed our dog in both of their fine dining restaurants over the three day booking and we discovered that outside of the festivities dogs are welcome in one of the restaurants all year. We had a garden room with a patio that led into the garden which was perfect for early morning dog walks so we settled down to enjoy the Christmas package. Christmas lunch began with a champagne reception and continued on to a multi course delicious dinner. The restaurant deserves its awards. Each meal was a delight and we both felt we had been very lucky to have the experience. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we felt cared for and pampered. This is truly a very special place and we shall return.

A lovely hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast, bar snacks generous and reasonably priced, beautiful Christmas scene on display in reception. We were in the annexe, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. As others have said lacking bedside reading lights and heated towel rail but otherwise excellent

Absolute belter of an hotel. Loved this place from start to finish. The tasting menu was beautiful, the staff couldn't fall over themselves fast enough to look after us and the venue itself is absolutely charming in a lovely village. Breakfast was on another level. Would love to come back.

Me along with three family members visited yesterday for afternoon tea, we would not recommend or return. |The afternoon tea is set in a small dark room in the hotel with no natural light, we also booked this hotel specifically because they advertise on their Instagram and website that the afternoon tea is presented in a modern box display, everyone on all other tables had the box tier cake holder and ours came out in a regular cake stand , bare in mind 4 of us where having afternoon tea, so they crammed four lots of desserts onto one tiny stand, when I asked why we didn’t get the modern box they advertise the waitress said they had run out, £140 worth of afternoon tea on one stand is a poor show. The staff were barely there, we sat for over two hours and wasn’t checked in on or asked if we wanted another drink, the hot chocolates we did order were cold on arrival. I have had better afternoon teas in tiny high street cafes. Worst afternoon tea experience ever.

What an amazing day! We had our wedding at The Haycock Manor Hotel on 5th October and it was perfect. The setting is beautiful, the old coach house made for stunning photos and the purpose built function suite had everything we needed whilst more modern was in keeping with the traditional building behind it. It was lovely to be able to have our function completely separate from the rest of the hotel. |Helen, Tony and the team went above and beyond on the day to help it run as seamlessly and they really made us, and our guests feel special. We didn’t need to worry about anything on the day as it was always in hand and our every need was attended to. We would also like to say a big thank you to the pastry chef who helped repair our wedding cake on the morning of our wedding. |We received lots of compliments from our guests about the venue and the staff. The BBQ was delicious and there was plenty of it.|We had the Nancy Cunard suite to get ready in and it is stunning, and very spacious (made for great photos!). The bathroom is incredible. Helen and the team reserved the Haycock Restaurant for us and our guests to have breakfast the next morning which was special as it meant we were able to catch up with everyone.||Although I have given 5 stars the run up to the wedding was a little bit stressful. But I think it was just unfortunate. We originally started planning our wedding with the previous wedding co Ordinator Laura, after a few weeks of no responses to my emails or phone calls, we received an email from Helen to say that she was taking over. A few weeks isn’t long but in the life of a bride it feels like forever. |When we met Helen for the first time, it was clear that Laura had not recorded any of the discussions we had had with her previously and we had to start again from the beginning which wasn’t ideal 6 months out. This turned out to be a blessing as Helen was lovely and much more knowledgeable. |There was then a couple of miscommunications with the hotel reception, I rang up to pay our final balance but the figure they had was different to the figure I was expecting. When I questioned the number of guests etc that they had on their system, it was very different to what we had finalised with Helen. However, once I spoke to Helen (after her annual leave) everything was sorted. A couple of our guests called up to try to pay for their rooms we had pre booked for them but were told that they did not have rooms booked, again after speaking to Helen this was cleared up.|These are only small things when I reflect on them now but they caused me a lot of stress at the time. ||However, as mentioned above the day turned our perfectly and the team were incredible. We cannot thank the Helen, Tony and their team enough for making our day so special. I would highly recommend hosting a wedding at The Haycock Manor hotel and my husband and I look forward to returning to celebrate our anniversaries in this beautiful setting.

We were gifted an Afternoon Tea at the Haycock by our family and from our arrival we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff to whom nothing was too much trouble. We were offered a superb selection of sandwiches and cakes together with as much of our choice of teas and coffee as we wished. It all took place in a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere in pleasant surroundings and we were even provided with a bag to take home the few small items we couldn't quite manage - testament to the generous portions!|Massive thanks to everyone concerned at the Haycock for providing such a thoroughly enjoyable experience which we wholeheartedly recommend.

Nice hotel recently refurbished, so all clean and new but the room in the annexe was a bit small and fittings in the bathroom were a bit poor to be honest. No wall mounted or heated towel rail, just a flimsy one placed on the way on the floor so we had to keep moving it and no bedside or reading lamps so we had to get up to turn the lights on and off. Most of the staff were delightful and one of the receptionists went out of her way to ensure we were happy and had what we needed. Cleaning of room was great. Food was very good. There was a charming model Christmas scene in the lobby which was lovely. Almost excellent but you need a good room in a hotel, that's what you're there for.
