Despite the slightly tired looking exterior, this is an excellent choice if you want a hotel in Cambridge, with parking, and walking distance to the city centre. Our room was on the ground floor but facing the rear and was very peaceful. The room is quite small but everything worked, it was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the shower water pressure was fantastic. Breakfast, included in our package, was very very good. Plenty of choice and the cooked food was served on piping hot plates. Best of all, Jackie and Jan, the two wonderful ladies who served us. Actually they did more than serve, they made our breakfast memorable and warm. I hope these two ladies are well regarded by the hotel management, as we really want to return based upon their personal and very welcoming characters. Lovely, lovely ladies.In case you didn’t realise, we thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The Ashley Hotel is a pleasant B&B. Our room was comfortable. It is conveniently located near central Cambridge and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. It is an older hotel and doesn't have an elevator. ||The best part is the full-English breakfast, cooked to order. Our server, Jan, was delightful and offered nice suggestions of special things to do in Cambridge.

On ground floor room. Difficult to gauge this hotel. The car park is great. From the outside, the hotel looks like a poorly kept youth hostel. Just needs to sort out the entrance area. The shower head was awful. Please replace the head!!!! The ensuite toilet is tiny but it's difficult to change anything as it's probably historical. I didn't have food. It did its job....I came, I slept, I went.

The check-in process was seamless and they had onsite parking at no additional charge and the breakfast staff were excellent having multifunctional roles and also cleaning the rooms, and the breakfast was good too. The location is within walking distance to parks and tourist attractions. Now, the bathroom was small and basic, and the room windows could not be opened leaving a stuffy room. But overall, it was clean, comfortable mattress and free private parking on the hotel grounds with a decent breakfast. Can’t go wrong for the price. The rooms, halls, rooms need some work though to bring up to a better standard.

Limited registration hours although you can communicate with its sister hotel Arundel House through the doorbell. No concierge, no baggage storage; no lifts and narrow stairways. It looks like it is being updated, but room 4 was dated (although furnishings in good condition) and clean (but the tiny shower stall needs a deep cleaning). Free parking, although I’m not sure if there is enough for everyone if the house is full. Like any old house, lots of creaking sounds from other guests. Great location for walking through Cambridge - close to several nice pubs. Breakfast was outstanding with great service from the staff - pretty much a fully cooked hot English breakfast plus extras like yogurt.

Such a lovely hotel & walking distance from the city centre. What made our stay were the amazing ladies that looked after us at breakfast. They couldn’t do enough for us. Their kindness was an absolute joy. Highly recommend this hotel. We would love to come back.

Have stayed here before and left a review. We used the carpark (rang through first check ok that there's not an event on.) 10 minute walk into town. It was a lovely hotel with good breakfast last visit

The location is great, but the rooms were underwhelming. Very question cleaning, there was mold in the shower, on tile and the showerhead. No hot water in the morning. They say 5BP if you lose a room key, must return it with checkout, but there's nobody at the reception when you check out - we asked some breakfast room staff and they said just give the keys to us, didn't check our room number or anything. The breakfast was good though.
