I’ve been wanting to stay at the Enchanted Village Treehouses at Alton Towers since they’ve opened, and as it was a friends birthday, 8 of us pooled together to stay in one during Oktoberfest during September 2023. I’m not going to soften the blow – this is one of, if not the most expensive accommodations on-site at Alton Towers, but was the price-tag worth it? I think it was!

First off, once booked, we received all the normal confirmations as you would expect. What was nice however is we received a phone call a few days before we checked in from a very friendly woman, who explained everything we would want to know about our stay. It was a very nice personalised touch, and got us excited for the trip.

Upon arrival, you get 2 reserved parking spaces at the Alton Towers Hotel which we took advantage of. As check in was at 2pm, we headed into Alton Towers in the morning and then headed back to check in. There is a specific Enchanted Village Treehouses check in area in the Alton Towers hotel, where you’re met by a member of the team who give you all the details you’ll need, keys and tell you how to get to your lodge. Once the paperwork was done, we headed to the lodge.

The Enchanted Village area is car free, so we grabbed our bags and headed to the lodge. The host who checked us in stopped by to show us how everything worked, and again, this very personal touch was greatly appreciated and did elevate the experience somewhat.

Upon entry, the Treehouse was impressive, with massive high ceilings and big windows overlooking the forest. There were lots of little details throughout the lodge such as little ‘fairy doors’, books for children, mugs with hot chocolate and biscuits, as well as an XBOX with games. As it was our friend’s birthday, they organised a really lovely treats hamper, including sweets, popcorn, some Wickerman goodies and a bottle of Prosecco – it was a really lovely surprise and one he hugely appreciated.

The highlight however was the hot tub on the terrace overlooking the forest – it was fabulous and, in my opinion, made the price tag of the Treehouse worthwhile. There was something quite special being sat in your lovely warm hot tub sipping some bubbles overlooking the forest. The bedrooms were fairly small, but as we were staying just the one night, we didn’t spend a huge amount of time in them.

As part of the package, we also got 4 Fastrack passes per person for The Smiler, Spinball Whizzer, Runaway Minetrain and Wicker Man. These do change throughout the year so the rides may be different, but this was a great bonus as it was a busy Saturday on the park.

As part of the package we got breakfast in the Crooked Spoon. I’ve left a separate review of my experience at The Crooked Spoon as this was very disappointing, and did leave a sour note on the end of stay – but I feel that the Treehouse itself shouldn’t be penalised for the poor experience there.

Overall, as a treat for a special occasion, the Enchanted Village Treehouses are worth it. The service, perks and location really do make a difference – and the wonderful hot tub is the cherry on the cake.

4 of us came for a family vacation to Alton towers.
The cottages are extremely small .
Bathroom is a hole in the wall.
We were very shocked to come back to a room in the same condition as we left it.
House keeping was done in boots and pieces after informing them over the phone as well as in person.
We were even charged for chargers.

1 star for Cleaning and hygiene!!!

Our cottage upon arrival was not cleared!
The previous guests worn socks sat on the floor.
The dirt, leafs and litter was still on the floor.
Hair was already in the bath around the taps.

The children's bunk beds were not made and the bedding was half on the floor.

Wet spilt fruit juice lay in several puddles at the edge of the children's room.

I went straight back to reception with the pictures of the state of my room to show the receptionist.

I was told house keeping would attend ASAP.
A man did arrive he identified the problems and said he would return.

Unfortunately no-one returned to clean our room.

We was told by reception to carry on with our day and even if we go out someone will let themselves in and complete the cleaning.

Unfortunately no-one attended.

The very next morning I returned to reception and put in a complaint.
I was promised a member of management would call me that day to discuss the matter.

Unfortunately no-one called.
We had arrived the Alton Towers early and received a email after 3pm to say our room is now ready.
I don't know what we had to wait for as No housekeeping was even carried out in this cottage.

For the price I paid this is definitely not value for money.

I was very sad to be complaining infront of my children as they had waited for a long time to stay at Alton towers overnight.

A lovely little location tucked out of the way at Alton Towers. Rooms are big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Very quiet and absolutely beautiful at night. Normally stay at Splash Landings but will only stay in the Enchanted Village from now on.
Accommodation was very clean and well presented upon arrival, staff were friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous and amazing little tree house. We loved it. It was so tidy and clean (expected for the price) definitely a luxury stay.. only issue we had is, why would you let someone book a stay at Alton towers resort when the resort is actually closed...?!? 😒 Hot tub was amazing. Star gazing at night while at in the hot tub was magical.

A hidden gem, tucked away from Alton Towers. Rooms are spacious, with enough room for 2 adults & 2 children. Beautifully decorated inside and out.

Staff were very accommodating, friendly and room service was speedy. Would highly recommend 😌

These are definitely the best way to enhance your stay at Alton towers, free fast pass, free crazy golf, free breakfast and amazing customer service from the tree house staff. Only one thing and we have noticed this as we have stayed in all of these from the first year they opened untill August just gone, if they are not careful they will undoubtedly become dated and tired looking you need to maybe update the inside and stain the outside plus there was an aweful lot of dust and debris.

Other wise we love these tree houses and would recommend to anyone.
