William, who owns the guest house was extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly. The room was clean & comfortable, with a good little shower room en suite. Everything you could think of was provided - biscuits, tea & coffee, fridge, extra radiator if needed, all forms of toiletries etc. We ordered breakfast by choosing anything we wanted from a really comprehensive menu the night before and it was laid out for us in the breakfast room at exactly the time we had asked for it. William even organised a driver to take us to and pick us up from a gig at the Stadium of Light. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Great experience from start to finish. The owners were so hospitable and the breakfast was delicious! Room sae comfortable and complete with period character. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Durham.

Super cosy and a nice hot breakfast in the morning. Tea, coffee, and cookies in our room was a nice little touch. Easy check in and out, and the property was very clean and tidy. The host was extremely nice and even offered to drive us into town when we checked out. |They really make sure every need is met and I will definitely be returning.

My family and I stayed here over three nights as we were attending our sons graduation. William the owner was so helpful from the day of booking our rooms and all through our stay nothing was to much trouble , William even drove us into Durham (two trips were need as there were six of us) for the graduation in the cathedral we had to be there for 7am and he made sure we all had breakfast at 6:15am. ||A warm welcome every morning from William and his wonderful family .||When visiting Durham again we will certainly be returning to this little gem.

I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of October.||||Nothing was too much trouble for Martin, the breakfast was cooked to order, a good strong pot of tea, and probably as much cereal as you could eat.||||My room faced the main road but I wasn't disturbed by any traffic noise. The room was very comfortable, every little detail has been thought of, down to a pot containing cleaning items for your used cups if you were staying a while.||||Should I ever need to find accommodation in Durham again ( I normally stay with friends) I really do hope that Martin and Moor End Guest House have a vacancy.||||Calling Martin direct also saved me a fair few pennies which was an added bonus.||||I had a wonderful stay and I wish Martin continued success which is the least he deserves.||||Thank you.

Brilliant 🙂 .Thank you so much for the lovely room (beautiful and a joy to stay in). Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. Thanks also for your help when we wanted to know which restaurants to visit. We were surprised just how quick and convenient it is to use the bus from just outside the guest house into Durham. We arrived in Durham late afternoon after driving for hours from the Lakes district via Hadrian's wall in Hexham. We were greeted by the host William. After check-in we asked William for directions to Durham Cathedral. Unfortunately we got lost and couldn't get there. We got back to the B&B very tired and disappointed as we only had the date of arrival to visit the Cathedral. We were tired and told William that we will just rest up for our trip up north the next day. William wouldn't hear of it and offered to drive us to the Cathedral and even wait for us while we toured the Cathedral. We were embarrassed and did not want to trouble him but he insisted and took us in his car, acting as a tour guide he drove past many attractions and got us to the Cathedral. Once I knew the way, I asked if we could return to the B&B so I could drive us in our own car to the Cathedral and spend the evening around there. He recommended a few restaurants as we drove past them and took us back. We managed to drive back and attend evening song and then spent a lovely evening walking around. If it weren't for William, we would have just spent the evening in our room feeling sorry for our selves. Our room was at the top floor. As I was parking the car, my wife took a small suitcase in. An elderly woman insisted on carrying the bag upstairs and no matter how many times my wife tried, she insisted on taking it up. Breakfast was great. Although only street parking is available, William assured us that the area was safe and he was right. This is a family run B&B and William and his family could not be more hospitable, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Moor End Guest House.

Accommodation very pleasant,and Martin so helpful. Cracking breakfasts in both quality and quantity. Good menu. A bonus is the bussiness next door, it's pub. Not rowdy but a good local , friendly and soon to have meals on again from a defined kitchen. Good beer, TV/ sport's bar and quiz night on Mondays. Enjoy!
