Had a lovely two night stay. Kaye and Steve are very friendly, chilled and accommodating. Home from home feel, the location to Durham centre is perfect and set in beautiful grounds with fab views. Very peaceful and quiet. Great exterior facilities and the communal kitchen/lounge facilities are akin to a self catered property! So useful especially if you’re staying a few nights. Everything was immaculately clean everywhere. Breakfast was a quality continental selection, with fresh eggs and a fab egg cooker to make boiled eggs just as you like them. And all essential fresh coffee and presses. |Only downside we felt, was the constant early morning activity, bumping and creaking floorboards from the floor above. |Great value for money. Look forward to staying again.

Great location, hosts were really freindly, without being too much. Fantastic to be able to get on a good walk right outside the address. Food was good and plentiful. Dog friendly is a big plus! We have family in the area and would definitely stay here again.

The room was spotless and nicely furnished with THE comfiest bed! The bathroom was large and there were copious fluffy white towels (but no bathrobes as described). The views were tremendous and it was really close to Durham. The lounge area was lovely and accessible all the time. ||But…the breakfast was self-service continental style and we (and the other couple staying) loaded and put on the dishwasher which we’ve never done in a B&B before! The bedroom is within a conservatory and it was sooo hot. On our final night we asked for a fan as we couldn’t get a breeze from the window as the conservatory door was closed at night. The fan made for a better night’s sleep and I would suggest that the rooms have one in there permanently. On the confirmation email it did say that guest rooms were not guaranteed noise free. Maybe a touch of an understatement! We could hear the man next door having a good old yawn and if we weren’t talking ourselves, we could hear their conversations. Eeeek. It was a lovely location but I did think it was expensive. We used our Christmas present BuyAGift ‘2 night luxury stay’ vouchers and as we stayed a 3rd night, we paid the difference which was £230! Ouch.

Excellent... we loved it, a stones throw away from the city centre but you'd think you were in the middle of the countryside... Excellent location and a good selection of breakfast foods,

Lovely & quite place with amazing view of the Valley, the room were spotless and comfy bed, huge bathroom and it's pretty close to the restaurants and cathedral.We loved the kinda feel at home breakfast, mostly the welcoming management. Would definately come back.

Really nice place to stay in Durham when visiting son at uni. Super comfortable beds, fluffy bath towels and lovely bathroom - with bath - which seems to be unusual these days! Very reasonably priced, good breakfast options, super views and really kind, hospitable owner. We would definitely recommend - and so would our pooch!

Rooms were okay but were no heating on in our room, the amount off dust that was under the bed when we went to pull something out was unbelievable, the spare bed had no pillow cases for the children so had to take one off ours. The gardens beautiful but the hot tub wasn't full. There's breakfast between 7 and 9.30am but you can just go and help yourself at what ever time so I'm not sure why they give a time as they arnt there to cook you breakfast or serve it. We went to use the hob and couldn't work it and had to wait and even the owner didn't no how to work it but she did go boil us some pasta. We wouldn't return due to the price it was with the service we got, if the price was lowered then I could justify the little things that add up.

Very lovely place and owners. We got a very well priced room with a view. Staying a night for my mothers birthday. |Great bathroom. 2 single beds- clean and spacious. Fabulous breakfast. We would love to come back! There is parking too. |Dog friendly.||Only constructive criticism is there was no grab rail in the shower/bath or little table next to the sink to put wash bag. That was it though. ||Purely constructive. Not negative. ||We hope to return. Thank you!
