This is the best hotel I have stayed at in a long time. The staff were all so welcoming, helpful and polite. The whole place is a wonderful conversion of the old County Hall and has been done to a brilliant level of expertise. The whole place is spotless including the room itself and the bathroom. Comfortable bed, good aircon, and excellent bathroom with properly powerful shower.

The bar and restaurant are wonderful with drinks at the bar and food in the restaurant (we only had breakfast) served with efficiency, joy and love.

A really wonderful place to spend a few nights and its staff are all a real credit to the place - making us feel completely at home and welcome.

Had a fabulous one night stay on my own. Gorgeous building , sensitively renovated. Beautiful rooms. Accessible bathroom luxuriously fitted. Best hotel breakfast I have had in years (made to order promptly). But above all friendly, efficient, helpful staff. Wonderful!

Hotel was perfectly situated for visiting Durham. Beautiful old building tastefully decorated.

Receptionist staff were very friendly and helpful as in fact were all the staff that we encountered.

We loved the design of our room. It was warm, comfortable with a great sized bathroom and lovely shower.

We ate in the Marco Pierre White restaurant. Service again was exceptional.

Breakfast was taken in the same room, providing a variety of options which included overnight oats.

Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again when visiting Durham.

We visited this hotel last weekend and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally located, and there were shops, restaurants and pubs within 10 minutes. The room was quite good , the shower was amazing. I found the bed to be firm , which I personally don’t like. It was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. Never heard any noise in corridor’s , and hotel was busy. Staff were fantastic, and really friendly.I used the small fitness room , it consisted of a treadmill, rowing machine, bike , weights and a couple of cross trainers. The Marco Pierrre White restaurant was excellent, really enjoyed our food & drinks. It was quite expensive. Breakfast was good as well. We stayed here 2 years ago as well. The reason why I didn’t give 5 stars was the parking. I am pretty sure it was free a couple of years ago. This time it cost us £40 for 2 days , which we were not aware of until we were checking out. I think if you are a guest at the hotel , you should be entitled to free/discounted parking. There is signage outside hotel about parking , we didn’t see it when we arrived, as it was dark.

I stayed at this hotel this week and was thoroughly impressed. The architecture and design are stunning, with a beautiful blend of traditional and modern styles. The bar is well-stocked, offering a fantastic selection of drinks, and the bar food is delicious. They serve lovely small snacks, including flavourful hummus with pickled vegetables and real tortilla chips, as well as properly battered onion rings (not the frozen kind, but with a perfect tempura batter).

Dinner was also exceptional. As a group of chefs, we can be quite picky, but everyone (about 20 of us) was impressed. Breakfast features a well-presented continental buffet, and you can also order a hot breakfast. The staff throughout the hotel are incredibly helpful and friendly, with a special shoutout to Kirsty, the restaurant manager at breakfast – she's fantastic!

The rooms are stylish and spotless, and the shower? Hands down the best I've ever had – perfect temperature and water pressure. The Zenology soaps were a lovely touch too.

I had a wonderful stay and am already finding an excuse to return!

The Hotel Indigo stay exceeded our expectations in every respect. From booking through to check-out, the whole experience was simple. All the staff were pleasant and helpful making the stay relaxing from the moment of arrival. The hotel is welcoming in all aspects - atmosphere, decor and personnel - and nothing was too much trouble for anyone if you needed anything or had queries. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We will gladly return. Thank you

What a fantastic stay! The rooms were clean and modern. The front desk was knowledgeable and accommodating! It is also in an excellent location, accessible to the key attractions in the area. I would stay again! The cafe at the lobby had really nice food as well!

Second stay in this unique lovely well appointed hotel with very friendly helpful staff, especially the 3 J's on reception!! Love the decor, super breakfast, hotel is well situated. The furniture is lovely as is the attention to detail ie very clean. We are hoping to come back soon as due a visit to hear a college choir sing in the Cathederal .
