Ordered this via UberEats based on a recommendation who ‘ate in’. The price of the delivery was extortionate in comparison to the eat-in price. I was told that 2 people were over-fed in the restaurant for £20, yet from UberEats, 2 mains and a side with delivery and Using UberOne was over £30. When the food came, everything was cold: STONE COLD. I’m not being pedantic, it wasn’t even remotely warm, and for any restaurant less than 2 miles away, it’s not really acceptable at all. So 2 mins in the microwave per person it was! The taste and quality of the food was incredible. Spice. Flavour. Texture. New things. But if I’m honest, when you’re hungry, £20 worth of big standard food from any 3 star Chinese or Indian, delivered hot, and to feed 2 or more would be far more substantial than this. My advice, don’t order it for delivery. They aren’t prepared enough to meet the demand and the mark-up they must be making is honestly borderline robbery. But, if you’re in the city centre, you can visit; try something new; and get an abundance of flavour on a budget. A shame really because Sri Lankan food isn’t popular in the city and from what I tasted, it could be. I wouldn’t order again for delivery, but I’d definitely visit the restaurant for a sit down meal.

Great place. If you are looking for authentic sri Lankan food. Then look no further my family and I loved the food. No complaints here.
Definitely recommend this place.

It's a small family run place, so you need to have patience, but trust me, it's worth it.

the food was really really good!! if you're not good with spicy food ask for non spicy, but if you can tolerate it, i will recommend you to try the spicy version of the plate. I had beef curry with rice and it was delicious!!
they also do delivery!

We never tried Sri Lankan food before, but today was the day. The beef kottu was delicious, we also tried the fish and egg roll and the pork curry with fried egg rice. For all the mango lovers out there, the mango lassi was heavenly! Highly recommend this place! Will come back soon 😍

The best Sri Lankan food I’ve had outside of Sri Lanka and on par with the food there. I ordered the chicken kottu and egg hoppers and even got given some of their special of the day which was a biryani to try, they were all amazing! Looking forward to coming back soon to eventually try everything on their menu! Big portion sizes at very affordable prices and can see them making it all fresh to order.

If you're seeking an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience, look no further than Sri Lankan Street Food & Cafe. This hidden gem in Coventry offers a remarkable journey through the rich and diverse flavors of Sri Lanka.

Food: 5/5
The menu is a tantalizing array of Sri Lankan staples that are hard to find anywhere else in Coventry. Highlights include the Kottu, a flavorful stir-fry of chopped roti, vegetables, and your choice of meat, bursting with spices and textures that dance on your palate. The fried rice and biryani are equally exceptional, each dish perfectly cooked and seasoned, delivering robust flavors that transport you straight to the streets of Colombo.

A standout feature is the selection of hoppers. The egg hoppers, with their crispy edges and soft centers cradling a perfectly cooked egg, are a must-try. The milk hoppers, slightly sweet with a hint of coconut, provide a unique and delightful contrast to the savory dishes.

For me a 5 star review doesn’t mean staying or eating food in a 5 star hotel. For me it’s all about the food, the service, quality. Sri Lankan Street food and cafe is a small stall near the city centre. I went to the stall at 9:10 pm to have my dinner. I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken curry. It came with fried crushed chilli prawns. The dish was delicious. One can sit outside and enjoy the food. I loved their service too. I will go there again.

Have amazing food and experience. Ordered dosa and it ckmes with three curries with perfectly blended spices and amazing taste. Good customer servuce as well. There are few seats inside the cargo container shops, you can also sit outside as well. Well maintained kitchen and you can even watch while they cook for you. Another cherry on top of the food quality, its very budget friendly.
