Fabulous pair of cottages, used for a weeks family holiday. Very spacious (at one point we had 9 adults, 1 baby and 4 dogs), very clean and well equipped. Wanted for nothing. Lovely (safe) courtyard for the dogs to play happily and for us to enjoy the sunshine and a BBQ. Would visit again πŸ™‚

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Janet was lovely and friendly. The cottages are well set up and great for anyone who needs a wheelchair. Lots of space, and accessories within the kitchen. There’s 2 shower rooms (1 is an ensuite) but again lots of space and well thought out with disabilities in mind.
Gorgeous views when the clouds are not so low.
Ideal if you’re a walker, location in middle of lots of places to visit. Lots of information and maps in the cottages for you to look through and plan your holiday.
Dog friendly which is always a plus in my daughters mind 😊
I’d say plan meals ahead and take shopping with you, as shops are few and far between, however Janet does offer meals up in the B&B and did save us with a stock cube I’d forgotten to bring πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

We spent a lovely week in Nellys cottage. Extremely well presented with everything you could want in a self catering cottage. The scones and jam were lovely, thanks to Jan for those. Wonderful views. The area is amazing. One night we had dinner cooked by Jan who with Harry own Nellys and run a B&B as well as having a herd of prizewinning Hereford cattle. The pie was one of the best I have ever tasted. All in all a very good week and I would recommend this place to anyone.

We have stayed at Alice's for the last 9 years and can honestly say it is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Jan & Harry are excellent hosts and Jan's baking & cooking is great. We originally chose this cottage because of its facilities for the disabled which are first class. Every visit we notice improvements be it the Wi-Fi in the cottage or the lovely new doors which should make it snug in the Weardale winters For animal lovers there are the dogs Nell & Fly plus some lovely prize winning Hereford cattle. For us this is a home from home. Will return next year.

We rented the cottage for 6 people incl. 3 children, parents and a grandparent of limited mobility. It had everything we needed, was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful location and views, very peaceful, starry skies. We didn't have dinner at the B&B but Janet left us a tasty cake on our arrival.

As a family, we rented both Nelly and Alice's Cottages for a recent family reunion. We were so warmly welcomed by both Harry and especially Janet who showed us around the cottages and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The cottages were already warm and cosy for our arrival and home made cake and jam were an additional 'delicious' welcome. The cottages are homely and feel well loved with everything we needed. Plenty of space and stunning views surrounded us. We would highly recommend the cottages and both Harry, Janet and the farm animals were a sheer delight. Our comfort made for a magical weekend and heartfelt thanks to Janet, Harry and Co.
