We visited the cafe for lunch - booking is recommended over the lunch period. The lunch menu consists of a selection of panini’s, jacket potatoes, salads and quiche (and I think a soup). I opted for a salad and was not disappointed. The ingredients were varied and plentiful and in my view, represented good value (circa £14). The outside area looked lovely but because of the weather, did not venture out. This cafe is waitress service. The decor is ‘comfy’ with a few lounge areas connecting to the cafe. The only downside was one communal toilet for all lunch guests which caused a queue.

The staff are wonderful, the two young ladies who served us couldn't have been more helpful and charming. The food was also extremely good. I love going there.

A very peaceful place to stay, in the centre of Newport, conveniently located, close to the bus station and to restaurants.
Charming interiors, with a lot of character.
Spacious, comfortable and clean room.
Breakfast is served, and freshly prepared after the order is made.
Hostess is friendly and Staff polite.
We will definitely stay there again!

Such a lovely little place to stay, the rooms are quaint and homey. The staff are so welcoming and friendly.
It is walking distance to a few different large shops for snacks drinks and such.
They have a wonderful garden to sit in and enjoy the weather.

We booked One Holyrood for a private function, a summer garden party for my 65th Birthday party.. We hired our own musicians which was fab.. The venue is absolutely luxurious and so pretty and well kept and clean. The staff were fantastic at taking care of all the guests, there was plenty of food,( pre arranged during consultation ). It was a true English High Tea, and a unique and wonderful afternoon was had by all. Also relaxed and charming. I would definitely recommend. Thank you to all involved in making the afternoon so lovely.

I can't comment on the Rooms because we didn't stay overnight, we just met other business partners for a Christmas Lunch.....This is where it failed to deliver! Christmas lunch on the 'Specials Board' was either a Baguette with pigs in blankets and a salad or Turkey and Cranbury sauce which should have been called Cranbury Sauce with a few bits of Turkey. I didn't fancy paying £14 for this so had a cheeseburger & chips. My wife went for the Cranbury Baguette specifically asked for No Crabury (it was full of Cranbury). My cheeseburger was dry (well overheated in the microwave no doubt) and my cheese arrived 10 minutes after I'd started (a slab melted onto a plate). I also asked that the Brioch bun was seadless as i cant eat anything with seeds, it was covered in seeds. A colleagues burger was equally as bad though hers was served with the cheese at the same time so a small bonus. Everyone waited ages for the food and everyone was equally unimpressed with the menu choices and the quality of the food. Because we waited so long for the food I couldn't be bothered to ask for a seed free bun and my wife didn't want to ask for a Cranbury free Turkey Baguette and we just wanted to eat and get out of there. This was pre booked but not by us and it wouldn't be a choice venue, certainly won't be in the future. I don't like being negative but this is an honest review. We were looking forward to a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, sadly this was the wrong place to go for a dinner.

We have experienced Holyrood a number of times, this occasion was attending a wedding, staff helpful, and always on hand and delaying promptly with all their guests. ||Meal was very nice, good potions. ||Our room, we love the feel of Holyrood, old school elegance. Very spacious, comfortable double bed, plenty of space to get changed and have all our photography gear, bathroom is good size. With a lovely large mirror for both of us to use while getting ready. ||Check in and out is seamless the team, make sure you know what is expected and in your rooms their are information pack to note anything you might have missed. With additional information on the history the building which is a worth while read. ||Location, heart of newport, so great for both public transport just a short walk from the station. And public car park round the corner. ||The building is well maintained, and you can enjoy the character of the building with the old support beams on show. And well as the garden which is very picturesque especially with the sun and garden in bloom. You have the option for patio or green to dine or chill, and relax.

Absolutely perfect stay at One Holyrood, really appreciated the top notch food efficiently served in the beautiful well maintained garden haven. All of the ground floor areas in the hotel are a delight and add to the experience of the stay. Every member of staff was lovely and there was such a pleasant atmosphere even though the hotel and restaurant were super busy.

Our room was small but well equipped and the bathroom modern with a powerful shower. Most importantly we’d asked for a quiet room and it was incredibly quiet. This was a real bonus in Newport, a place that is alive with feisty nocturnal seagulls! We slept like the dead & ate like kings in the sunny garden.
