Beaumont House - Cheltenham

We were going to a works do in Cheltenham and I stayed here with a colleague. It was easy to find with sat nav, has great parking, was beautifully appointed with all amenities. The bed was really comfortable, the shower cubicle was on the small side in our room, but the shower itself was good. There was a fridge, kettle and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Downstairs is a lovely dining and sitting area with complimentary tea, coffee and snacks and an honesty bar. It was great for getting into town (the Montpellier end) when we went out in the evening, an easy walk back and a short walk to Bath Road the next morning to a lovely cafe for brunch! We would definitely stay here again.

Beaumont House is a little gem conveniently situated just outside the centre of Cheltenham (a 15-minute walk to the stylish Montpellier area). We loved the decor, cleanliness and general vibe of the place. Had a lovely chat with Fiona the owner whose passion for service and quality shines through. The rooms all have distinct "roomanalities" (made up word) which lends a wonderful sense of fun to the accommodation. Nice touches like the honesty bar, lounge, garden and snacks are appreciated. Personally, I like the self-check-in, it's really convenient and makes financial sense for a business that is not charging the big bucks of the corporate hotels. We stayed for the Cheltenham Literature Festival with easy proximity to all the venues.

I'd have loved to have spent another couple of nights at this delightful hotel. Parking, garden, tastefully decorated and comfy. So easy to walk into Cheltenham's town centre and shopping area.

There were no dining or full English/continental breakfast facilities, but that didn't matter to me. There are plenty locally.

Beautiful boutique hotel just outside Cheltenham ideal for the races. Fiona is a fabulous host, very friendly and gave us a free room upgrade. Bath Road is a short 5 min walk with lots of cafes and local shops.

Stylishly furnished and professionally photographed for the website. It appears to be great place, but feels like the owners are trying to maximise profit by squeezing in as many box rooms as possible with paper thin walls whilst reducing the services previously included. Having stayed here twice previously, the breakfast has been replaced by hot water for self service tea making and a choice of high fat muffins or a 50p cereal bar. The photos for the superior rooms was certainly not the room we were allocated by the machine at the entrance. There is an email and phone number if you actually want to speak to a person otherwise no one in sight. In the morning in our room on the top floor, we listened to the conversation of the couple in the bathroom next door. There was a spider in their bath amongst the discussions between them. We listened to someone leaving their room, walked down the stairs all the way to them closing the front door as they went out. Due to the slanting ceiling, unless under average height, it is impossible to fully stand up in the shower, as well as having to considerably stoop when reaching for the towels. Banged my head twice.
Yet, with the drop off in quality / availability of service, the price has noticeably increased since my last visit.
So the lasting impressions were "style over substance" and yet another example of "customers being ripped off in Britain". Sadly, the last time we will use this place when staying over in Cheltenham.

A very comfortable, clean and nicely appointed hotel in an excellent location with plenty of secure off-road parking.

All communications from the hotel were clear and concise, self check-in was a breeze and everything worked seamlessly.

Staff were welcoming and polite.

I stayed in the Hillview room which was set-up as requested as a Twin. A light, bright room with lots of space, a comfortable sofa and chair to relax in and a big bathroom with separate shower and bath. The beds were very comfortable with a choice of pillows and nice quality linens. The bathroom towels were large, thick and fluffy (a rarity in most hotels these days it seems!). In the room there’s a kettle, cups and nice selection of teas and instant coffee from Clipper, a useful small drinks fridge with milk and bottle of mineral water.

The communal areas were spotless.

Beaumont House is a short walk from the town and just a few minutes from the excellent Bath Road shops, cafes and pubs.

Highly recommended, will definitely stay again.

Stay at Beaumount House was short but pleasant. The house is located close to the city centre, with a small car park on the side (spaces for electric charges including) and a small playing area for kids. It's the first time we had to use self-checking, it was a smooth process but during the stay I would prefer to have staff around. The house is cosily decorated, in neutral colours, with a dining tables in one room and lounge with sofas, tv, coffee tables, honesty mini bar which is a great idea.

The room was small but cosy. It smelled funny though, a little funghi smell to be honest. But the room was very clean, same as bathroom. The bed was super comfy. There were lots of shelves for clothes storage, iron and ironing board, hair dryer in the room. Kettle, mugs, Clipper coffee and tea provided. And mini fridge. Unfortunately the acoustic was poor, we could hear everything and people's conversations in other rooms.

The breakfast was... Not breakfast at all. Full fat sugary muffins (3 flavours for your choice), 2 types of chocolate bars, 2 flavours of small fruit juices, coffee/tea/hot chocolate. It's rather snack bar than breakfast. I understand that there are good places to get breakfast nearby but that's not the point.

I'm not going to rate service/staff as we didn't have any interactions with staff, didn't see them either. House manager was available on the phone.

Stayed here for 1 night while visiting our daughter in Cheltenham. Great pre stay communication & easy checkin via the automated checkin machine which issues you your card to access the building. Well situated near to Bath Road & Cheltenham town centre. ||This is a stunning period property with many original features including the stunning entrance hall floor and super high ceilings. Our room was perfect, super clean and a good size with a powerful shower delivering plentiful hot water. The bed gave a great nights sleep even if a little on the soft side for me.||Overall a great property which we will definitely be using again
