What can I say?! Such a great pub! Wish it was my local.
The room was excellent value including a plentiful breakfast. Everything you need, cute, cosy and comfy.
The pub itself is an absolute gem, the staff are lovely and the food was great too. Open fire, good mix of locals and guests, open til late as well. We stayed the night, drank here, ate dinner here and and had breakfast here so we definitely tested it out properly.
We relaxed and unwound which I think we needed.

Popped in for a quick lunch.
Service was friendly.
Pub is well signed.
Loved the furniture and authentic pub feel.
Food was good and filter coffee was good too. Loads of parking nearby. Would recommend for a pub lunch, or just a drink.

We had the £5 English breakfast which was superb. Really good quality and generous quantity. Best breakfast option in Cowes if not on the whole island!

What a gem. Lovely team, comfortable room just a bit warm, great shower, fluffy towels, beautifully clean, lots of little comforts and touches in the room that were so thoughtful. And breakfast was incredible. Brilliant value for money all round. Pub was also vibrant and full of cheer. Highly recommend.

Visited Cowes for a few days with my sister and had lovely meals in the Union. Pub located right on the slope leading to the seafront - what I would class as a proper pub serving proper pub grub!|We were excellently served by Claire who couldn’t have done enough for us. |I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for good old fashioned food and brilliant service.

Lovely pub - excellent service from the lady working (on her own.)||But the food - my goodness. Sunday roast last week was awful and one of the worst meals eaten out. Two boned chicken thighs for a roast?! Undercooked potatoes, minimal veg etc. ||Didn't complain at the time as the girl working didn't need any hassle as she was so lovely.

Due to storm Darragh we couldn’t visit Cowes (train & Ferry cancellations) The owner was just so rude and aggressive. I totally understand a 7 day cancellation period but had he had the foresight to be sympathetic, polite and pleasant we would probably rebooked for our family trip again in January. A member of his team, Dan, was a credit to the pub industry. He was such a sweet young lad and the vile owner could learn a lesson from a member of his staff.|If you’re considering booking accommodation in Cowes I would recommend you avoid this place!

We went to Cowes with Friends and decided to stop somewhere for lunch , we found the Union Inn looked like it would have a nice lunch menu . We went to order our food at the bar after a previous bad experience with a beefburger my partner asked if my burger could be well cooked the girl behind the bar rolled her eyes and looked at her friend sat at the bar which was very rude. We ordered our food and waited absoulutely ages for it to arrive there was only one other table sat down for food god knows how they would cope if it gets busy. When the food arrived I asked which one of the bugers was well done her response was the Chef said it's cooked when it's cooked. I understand some chefs don't like over cooking some food but it wasn't a michelin star resturant where i'm ordering a lovely steak it was just a burger , and if the customer asks for it to be more cooked then as your paying for it the chef should cook it as the paying customer requests. Very rude won't be going back.
