We stayed here and we were told on arrival that our room wasn't available for us to stay in despite us having travelled all day to get there for an event. After hours of getting no where, the manager came and let us stay as it was only for a few nights. Not worth the stress and ended up being late to our event! The shower was blasting very hot water, the beds weren't comfortable and breakfast was a farce! Do not go with this hotel, better off spending some more money for a peace of mind and better service. This hotel is not worth the stress to stay at. Go somewhere else!

If you make absolutely sure you are in a renovated room - I was in the building off the main road - this is pretty good. Referring to other reviews, my room was clean, the bathroom was new and shiny (even if the tiling was clearly not done by a professional!) with little toiletries and large white towels, the bed was comfortable with 4 pillows and I appreciated the tea and coffee in the room. Midweek I had no problem getting a spot in their free parking. The full English breakfast is now cooked to order and was actually really good, you also got cereals, yoghurts, and little pots of Tiptree jam in a nice bright breakfast room. I didn’t spot fruit or pastries beyond toast but that doesn’t bother me. And they have a bar. ||Not good was the problem with the boiler which meant the shower water was tepid at best, but that is temporary. Some of the replastering hadn’t been finished. The walls are a bit thin if you are unlucky with your neighbours. ||I think these guys are trying to turn it around and if you can get one of the renovated rooms B & B for £75 I think it is pretty good value.

Stayed for one night with my wife as we were celebrating a friends birthday. Upon arrival found the car park is very small, we were told there is more parking off site. Reception was nice enough. Finding the room was a challenge as the hotel is old and not very well laid out. The room was clean, as was the attached bathroom. This was 2 small steps up from the room which made the bathroom ceiling very low. The in wall shower did not work and you have to use the little spray head from the mixer tap which was rubbish. The extractor family also did not work. Coming out of the bathroom it is easy to slip and fall down the 2 step (which I found out narrowly avoiding serious injury). Room is very dated, old plug sockets with no USB provision which is a must nowadays. Breakfast was a buffet affair which was ok. All in all for the money I would rather have stayed in a travelodge.

Avoid avoid avoid! This hotel has a bad reputation and I should have read the reviews before coming as all the negative comments are totally accurate! The mattress was awful.. waking up with a bad back is not the greatest start to your morning but I was looking forward to breakfast at least..nope… rubber eggs, stale bread and no service! The waitress didn’t even bother to acknowledge we had entered the restaurant! Totally let down! Room was old fashioned, unclean and poorly maintained.. do not waste your money..

We turned up today for a booking we made in October 2023 for a friends wedding in Romford to be told that “the local council have block booked it and it is no longer operating as a hotel”. The owners have not had the decency to contact us prior to us turning up today to cancel our booking leaving us stranded and looking for a last minute alternative hotel.

So the room was beautiful but there was an issue with the savi-loo system. Every time anyone above or yourself flushed the loo the pump made the most horrible loud noise. Had no sleep. Went to reception 3am just to be told there just security and to see morning staff. So no offer of room change. Also|I had a shower and the bath safety handle broke of from the wall. I e complained I feel I should get a refund for the room and they said no. This is not acceptable. Avoid avoid avoid. Now there just ignore me. This was my wedding night ruined.

Booked this hotel for weekend as attending family event. £150 for 2 nights. Weeks before we’re contacted by hotel to say they had contractors working on roof and we needed to cancel our superior double room as we would be disturbed by the work going on all day. Having cancelled our room was surprised to see that the e hotel was still advertising a superior double room, for the weekend that we wanted for £500 for 2 nights. Having visited Romford for our family event, we had cause to pass the hotel several times over the weekend. There was no evidence of any work being done to the roof of the annex nor was there any contractors vehicles in evidence. It seems that getting a good rate through booking . Com means nothing as the hotel will just cancel if they feel that they can get more money through their own website
