My mum and I booked the twin room for 1 night and we do not regret it. Jenny at the Dovecote is like an Aunt you haven't seen in a while. Her welcome was warm and very friendly. She made the whole experience that much better and no request was too much for her. ||The cottage is an absolute gem as well. The 2 rooms are spotless and very well presented. We had our breakfast served in the garden and we even stayed a bit after leaving the room, just to enjoy the quietness of the place. I would definitely recommend a visit and I hope I'll be able to come back soon.

My cousin and I recently stayed a night int eh twin room at The Dovecote guest house and were pleasantly surprised. It was more than a place to get your head down but more a home away from home. The beds were comfy with cosy dressing gowns and slippers and luxurious smellies and the whole house was spotless. The decor was very homely and tasteful with many personal touches. It was outstanding value for money but by far what made it stand out from the other guest houses we have stayed at was the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that the owner Jenny manages to uphold. She treated us like friends rather guests and was so caring, even making us breakfast at a ridiculous hour of the morning (which was yummy and great quality), offering us cups of tea on arrival and ensuring our stay went very smoothly. We hope to come back very soon!

My wife booked this place as she had never been to the isle of wight before and wanted to go.||We arrived during a heatwave of 30 degree plus, and met Jennifer for the first time. She is a fantastic woman who makes you feel immediately at ease by her friendly smile and demeanor.||We had the twin room which was quite small but manageable, the bathroom is downstairs adjacent to the living room. We were pleased that the other guest had not arrived as it would have been a tight squeeze, so fortunately we had the place to ourselves.||Our collie was at peace in the garden as she lives outside at home and Jennifer seemed to quite like her. ||We slept on top of the beds during our stay due to the ambient temperature being so hot with little or no wind at all.||There is no parking but I managed to park up the street and there were no issues.||Handy for walking into Cowes Dovecote ticks most of the boxes.||It is a small quaint cottage which is very homely and peaceful.||Breakfast...I have to say that the Jenster makes fantastic poached eggs and her bacon is cooked to perfection. Her breakfasts are really nice and she ensures you are well fed before you set off on your journeys.||We initially had the giant teapot and plates but were downsized the next day to smaller ones, which we brought hilarity to breakfast.||Thankyou Jenny for a wonderful stay, you are one of the nicest people we have had the pleasure to meet. Loved your home and so did 'Fatty'

My wife and I are seasoned travellers but we we quite literally speechless with this proprietor . We were promised the master double bedroom overlooking the garden but we ended up in the twin bed room because the owner had friends staying over. The breakfast was cereal and toast we were informed. When I asked if I could have scrambled eggs with salmon or something cooked Jennifer looked mortified! ||We were locked out of the property till 11.30 that night and couldn't get in. We were waiting outside the front door on the step with Jennifer and her friends laughing at us. Her answer was ' but darling...why didn't you take your keys'||If you like being called darling in every sentence then this property is for you. ||We asked the proprietor to call us a taxi so we could find somewhere else but she couldn't. We left early the next morning.
