Our host, Lin was very welcoming and friendly.||We had the family/ 3 bed 'Beach' themed' room. Personally, I liked all the beach inspired decor and ornaments - I thought it was very jolly. ||Room and shower room clean, clean towels and bedding plentiful. ||Although our room was fairly compact, but we found it spacious enough for us, for a short stay. Lin's cooked breakfast was very nice and we could tailor it to what we wanted. The B&B is under 5 minutes walk to the sea front. Overall, we found our stay at Apple Tree Cottage very good value for money. Would stay again, if we were in the area.||Thanks, Lin. xxx

We were sent to this B & B following problems at Leeward House guest house. Each room had a theme, and our room was called Pebbles. This was a very nice room with a nice firm bed, and also nice views. However, there were just 2 Bath Towels in the room, which did not absorb the water when drying oneself, and there were no handtowels. This place has quite a lot of rules and regulations which did not apply to us as we only stayed one evening. The Breakfast was very good, we thoroughly enjoyed it. A very pleasant stay. Thank you Lin.

Me and my family have just come back from a wonderful 3 night stay. The owner (Lin) was very warm and welcoming.the B&B is located very near the beach and was very clean and tidy. The rooms are themed and we was in the pebbles room which was very tastefully decorated with everything you need including a wc and a shower. The breakfast was excellent and more than enough to set you up for the day. I would recommend this to anybody and definitely would stay again and is very good value for money. 5* accommodation.

We stayed at this place for 2 nights, and had a bad experience. As soon as we entered the house, I smelled an overpowering air freshener, and this got even stronger in the room. It gave the impression of a smoky house where they try to mask the smell by using air freshener. This suspicion got confirmed in the evening, when in spite of the air freshener, we felt the cigarette smoke. This is why I give the place the worst possible rating. ||Apart from the smoke, I did not like that the bedding was 40% polyester, but it can be a personal taste: I like to sleep in 100% cotton bedding. The room was quite small (it would have made an adequate single room, but there was barely enough room to walk around the double bed) and stuffed with small ornaments. The en-suite bathroom was not very clean and had carpet on the floor. It was also stuffed with small decorative objects. The curtains were very thin: not a real problem when we visited in winter, but would let in far too much light for some people to sleep during summer. The breakfast was a good portion, but did not taste nice, and the cutlery and crockery were not very clean. The landlady was okay, but kept the interaction at the minimum. All in all, I cannot recommend this place.

The room was very sub standard and nothing like any of the pictures shown. there was a double bed and next to that a shower cubicle and the toilet and washbasin were in a small cupboard. In the toilet there were cleaning products and a dirty cloth at the side of the toilet Yuck. The bed was covered with a dirty throw and there were a couple of just as grubby cushions on it and next to the bed were bath mats. The kettle on the hospitality tray was full of scale and dirt. Then there was the smell in the room, it was like a whole can of fabreze was sprayed on the bed, carpet everywhere to mask the smell of smoke and dog (the can was left on, the sink). It was very pungent and after about 10 to 15 mins even after opening the window it started to affect my breathing and my partners eyes were streaming. We therefore decided we would not be able to stay so we left and had to find accommodation elsewhere. Never had any problems with other B & B before and my only regret is that I didn't take any photos.

A pleasant stay in the beach room over May bank holiday. Comfortable room with all the facilities you need. Good breakfast menu being able to have exactly what you want, and offered more if we wanted. |Host Lin was very welcoming and showed a kind interest in our day ahead. |Would stay there again especially as family is down the road.

The worst b&b I have stayed at. What a dump. When we arrived at7.30on Sunday evening and we were shown to the room we wanted to run away but at that time of day where to go. We even had to ring Lin to get in the house. Shouldn't have bothered. Our room was so small we could not pass each other round the bed. To view the TV we would have had to lie in the bed where our feet go. There was nota top in the room not cluttered and lighthouses abundant - on the walls tops everywhere. Breakfast must have been cooked the night before. The place needs a good clean.

Stayed for 2 nights. It offered what I needed which was a bed as I had family nearby. Breakfast was good. The water pressure in shower not great but coped for one morning as left very early the next morning. Lin approachable and helpful. Would visit again as so close to family so I could walk back. I arrived too early my fault entirely but an hour later Lin text and called to say all was ready.
