Brilliant stay at The Lincoln hotel! Great location, right next to the Cathedral and close by to all the bars and shops! Despite being at the top of a very steep hill, the views and magical Christmas magical was worth it. Lovely staff and great comfy bed. Only slightly negative thing was the shower, which didn’t seem to get very warm. But a fab stay, would stay again.

Friendliest staff ever (seriously) making our stay so pleasant. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable…..especially the bed. Breakfast was relaxed and enjoyable, with a good selection of hot food and continental choices. Freshly ground morning coffee was much appreciated…..together with pots of tea for my wife. Our room had quite superb views of the cathedral and we enjoyed our balcony and the ability to open doors and enjoy fresh air whilst relaxing on comfortable lounge chairs looking at the magnificent view. The location surprised us by being just a five minute walk from Steep Hill, Lincoln Castle and the Cathedral entrance. On our rail journey home we agreed that we loved Lincoln and that when we return we will undoubtedly stay at the Lincoln Hotel.We have no affiliation with the hotel……..it being our first visit to Lincoln and having no prior experience of the area or it’s lodging options.

From start to finish was great from booking to the stay was perfect. Staff were polite and knowledgeable. Once in the room very spacious, everything you need to stay from a hair dryer to and ironing board to a tv and a decent soft bed with soft pillow cases and a warm duvet. |Gym was small and complete for a great workout but couldn’t understand why there was only 1 plug in treadmill and the other machines didn’t have 1 even though they needed them to work. |I had a garden view which was okay but my friend she had a perfect view of the cathedral at the front and plus all other friends that stay had a great stay too.

What a lovely hotel! Fantastic room with a great view! Lovely food and the amazing service from Sean. All the little bits that made a great trip for my wife's birthday celebrations 💐.

On first sight the hotel looks a bit like a 1980s comprehensive school, and it's fair to say that some of the fittings could do with a bit of decorating. However the staff were utterly fantastic, so warm and welcome they outshone the chipped skirting boards. Really helpful and accommodating. The food was also a level above. Everything I ordered was fantastic, creative and perfectly finished. I had duck, sea bream: something different every night and it was all smashing. Location is brilliant. Views of Cathedral were superbe. Top marks!

I stayed with my friend new years eve. What an absolutely amazing reception when we walked in to check in 'Nicola' you are an absolute star! Then when we went out in our finery we encountered another lovely receptionist. The gorgeous Andrew at breakfast, the food was hot and delicious and the room clean with a comfortable bed.

Stayed here 4 years ago and at that time hotel decor and furnishings were chic, and we ate good food in the restaurant which was separate to the bar. Hoping for same experience we returned this year, however, the hotel is now shabby and dinner is served in the bar area alongside those only wanting a drink - we refused to eat there and obtained a refund for the dinner. Examples of shabbiness include dirty/threadbare carpets and curtains with all furniture worn and chipped in all areas, and greasy headboard, paint splattered tiles, broken balcony door and chipped bath in our supposedly ‘deluxe’ room. Such a shame and disappointing as location is great, car parking a big plus, decent breakfast and staff were obliging. Felt like it was on the verge of closure and hope some investors see the opportunity to move it to a 4 or 5 star from a 2/3 star hotel.

A gem of a hotel! Spotlessly clean, good food at a decent price, beautiful cathedral view from our balcony, and the staff were so attentive and kind - couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the historic uphill part of Lincoln. We hope to be able to stay again!
