We had the most wonderful time celebrating our wedding at the Grain Loft and Llanhedric House. The venue was the perfect setting for our intimate, informal day with just 26 guests.

We had the house for the weekend so that we and close family could stay the night before and the night of the wedding, extending the celebrations and ensuring everything was close at hand for less stress on the day! The house is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable, and we enjoyed making use of the games rooms on the Friday night.

The Grain Loft is a beautiful venue which didn't need much in the way of decorating as the rustic and cosy vibes were already so lovely. We liked that there was a separate space for the wedding breakfast and it was a bonus that they had recently completed a larger barn space which was perfect for the evening, with a bar area and plenty of seating. (This would comfortably hold a lot more than 28 people!)

The garden areas and the views over the hills are stunning and we were very lucky with the weather so got to make the most of the outdoor space too.

Elaine and Mark were so helpful in answering any questions we had in the lead up, greeting our suppliers on the day, and making sure everything ran smoothly. They very generously provided things like a speaker for our music and set up all the furniture, but note that it is a dry hire venue, so you do have to hire in catering, bar service, crockery etc. This means that you can really make your day your own, which we did by booking a street food caterer and having games available for our guests to play.

We definitely recommend the Grain Loft to any couples who are looking to hold an intimate, and very special, wedding in Shropshire.

From the outset of planning our wedding we wanted an un-fussy, fun, relaxed and rustic wedding. The Grain Loft absolutely fitted the bill and Elaine and Mark made this vision come to complete fruition. We both love being outdoors and so the venue with its amazing views was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they were both forever reassuring especially as the day grew closer and the plans had to change due to …. Storm Antoni! The day arrived with strong winds and rain for much of the day, unfortunately robbing us of our outside drinks and photos with the amazing Shropshire countryside but with Mark and Elaine’s help we were seamlessly able to switch our welcome drinks into the marquee which we had hired locally from Enterprise House. At all times they remained totally unflappable and calm.

Llanhedric House was also a lovely venue for housing family and friends. Very sociable and with a touch of luxury. With the games rooms, table tennis table, bow and arrows there was plenty for everyone to do and it lent itself to our wedding party getting to know each other.

The Grain Loft for the ceremony and the reception (an afternoon tea) looked spectacular with many thanks to Jane’s Petals for the simple yet beautiful floral display. The Loft upstairs was beautifully decorated, with lots of twinkles and feeling all very intimate with its oak beams and rustic feel. It was the perfect size for our wedding party of 58 people. The transformation of the Loft from the ceremony to our bridal suite for the evening was simply magical with some lovely touches (thank you for the sparkly Elaine and Mark!).

Our friends commented that Mark and Elaine were ‘always there but not there’, supportive yet unobtrusive. This summed them up perfectly. We simply cannot thank our hosts enough for making our day so special. If you are looking for a small to medium sized wedding in gorgeous surroundings with a relaxed feel then do consider the Grain Loft, we cannot recommend this highly enough.

Adam and I married on the 20th November 2021. It couldn't have been more perfect.

The venue offered us the best of all that we required. Having our small number of guests together for the weekend through use of the guest house and the stunning barn for the ceremony. It provided complete convenience and made the day not only special for us, but for all our guests. We had our joint families join us for the weekend and because of the set up. The kids were able to play together safely without their parents needing to worry. So, they had some downtime. With the number of rooms and the games rooms it meant that people were able to have their own space, do as they like and entertain and feed themselves whenever was needed. We didn’t need to tend to anyone so it made it easier for us.

Having the ceremony literally next door was fab. We all met casually for breakfast as we drifted out of bed. Got ready, popped next door and got married! There were no cars to organise, no traffic, no last-minute rushes or panic. It was simply easy.

After the wedding and our amazing caters which were Elaine accommodated perfectly. We went back to the house, changed into more comfortable clothing (apart from my husband who insisted on wearing his suit) and relaxed, drunk and ate. I don’t like the formality of weddings. People having to be in a particular place and you spend your day tending to people that you paid to come to your wedding. The Grain Loft allowed us to have an intimate, glamorous yet informal, personal wedding. It was perfect.

If you would like a wedding to spend it with those you care most about. To have the ease and simplicity of having all you need on one site. To not worry or stress about logistics, occupying others and being able to truly enjoy your day. The Grain loft allows you to have a wedding you AND your guests will never forget.

To this day. My guests have said it’s the best wedding they have ever been to. Simply because there was no hassle, stress or strict schedules and formality. For them it was a mini holiday where they all got dressed up, looked a million dollars. Shared an unforgettable moment with us and were back in their ‘fat pants’ by 3pm. Eating, drinking, laughing and having fun for the remainder of the day to the early hours.

We recently had our winter wedding at The Grain Loft on the 19th December 2023
It was a beautiful venue and just perfect for our small wedding - Elaine and Mark were perfect hosts and could not do enough for us - the farm house accommodation is a real bonus which meant all of our family could stay the night and really enjoyed the games room and cosy log burning fire.

Wow!!! Huge thanks to Elaine & Mark. We had our wedding at The Grain Loft last weekend and it was amazing. The venue is in the most beautiful setting with incredible views across the Clun Valley. The grounds are well maintained and looked fantastic in the height of summer. Elaine and Mark listened carefully to our requirements and made sure everything was in place on the day. In the run up, they liaised with the caterers and others involved and made sure they were available to take deliveries and to help out. We made use of the whole venue, with friends staying in Llanhedric House and we had the honeymoon suite in The Grain Loft. Everyone we have spoken to after the wedding has commented on what a beautiful setting it is so thanks Elaine & Mark once again for helping to make our day so special. We would totally recommend The Grain Loft to anyone getting married.

We got married at the Grain Loft on the 25/09/2021 and it was amazing. The Grain Loft and associated house are both beautiful and in a stunning location. Elaine and Mark were very friendly and so helpful, including doing things like transforming the ceremony room into an amazing Honeymoon Suite.

We had such a great day and would highly recommend The Grain Loft as a wedding venue for any couple!
