While staying in the area for a birthday getaway we visited the penny farthing for a meal. All of the food was delicious, especially the steak! Lovely welcoming staff and the whole pub was decorated brilliantly, very festive! Would definitely visit again! Highly recommend a visit here!

We popped in for a quick pint late afternoon and ended up having an all day breakfast - the best yet! The staff are very welcoming. Needless to say we returned the following day for lunch (the all day breakfast- couldn't resist) Lovely atmosphere, easy parking and access. Will definitely return when next in the area!

Booked a table for 15.00 sat down at 15.50 no apology from owners had to ask if we could order 25 minutes later we were told no roast potatoes what a shit show cancelled meal no one said I’m really sorry for the inconvenience

We visited the beautiful village of Timberland for a fishing and relaxing holiday. We were told about how wonderful the village pub is, and it definitely deserves this reputation. The pub and gardens are stunning, there is a pool table and a darts board. The menu choices are vast, and everything is home made (with a special mention to the home made scotch egg - wow!), and huge portion sizes. We ate here more than once, and the food was a consistent 10/10!!! The food and drinks were all very reasonably prices. The staff and locals are all lovely and friendly. If you get a chance to visit, absolutely do it! We'll absolutely be back next year, and thank you for the warm welcoming experience!

Dropped in at lunchtime not booked, after a very wet dog walk, no problem taking dog in. Food was amazing, I had beef burger with cheese and bacon he had a full rack of ribs, (what I can't eat I'll take home, only the bones left to take home). Would recommend, off the beaten track mind
