Super place to stay. Beautiful house with tasteful, quality furnishings in a pretty, quiet village location. Super clean, super comfortable, accommodating and attentive hosts, and nice quality breakfast choices. Fellow guests were regular returners so that was high recommendation! Pretty views from house and free, off road car park with easy access. Will definitely return when next in same area. Thankyou for a really enjoyable stay.

Perfectly situated for SDW walkers, or as a base for walks and rides in the area. Pretty village. Lovely hosts and excellent cooked breakfast in pretty country dining room. Nice and quiet, room was comfortable with garden view. Fresh milk for tea/coffee in the room was appreciated. Pub just across the road was friendly and food was plentiful and reasonably priced.

I stayed for one night in this bed and breakfast while walking The South Downs Way. The location in Poynings Village is excellent with a pub just down the road for a drink and a meal. |Mike and Sue are delightful and welcoming hosts. My stay was very relaxed and comfortable - I had a view of The Downs from my room which was clean and the bed super comfy. The bathroom was spotless with toiletries supplied and the shower hot with good pressure. Breakfast was great with a milk alternative available without pre-ordering. The decor is charming and the cottage history worth asking and reading about. |I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone walking The Way or just wanting to visit a lovely area of England. |I also enjoyed the easy, no-fuss booking arrangement with Mike and Sue. Very refreshing and good value for money.

This is an exceptional B&B. The location is fantastic for the South Downs Way. The welcome is superb and it is geared for walkers (with a dog). The room we had was light, airy, with crisp, white cotton sheets and duvet, and beautifully equipped. Excellent en-suite shower room and everywhere spotlessly clean. The little touches (fresh sweet-pea flowers in the room) make it stand out from the rest. Highly recommended. Breakfast was superb. The pub opposite (The Royal Oak) serves very good food for supper.

I travelled to Poynings to do an outdoor first aid course. I found South Downs Way B&B online and booked it for myself. I didn't have much information about the area, I got in touch with Mike, owner of the B&B. He helped me organise the travel and arrive there. The venue to the course was far away, and he offered to drop me every morning so I don't miss my classes. Mike and Sue are amazing, helpful hosts. The b&b is located in the centre of the village. View from the room is amazing. The breakfast was great. They are amazing hosts. I will definitely be going back. I recommend this B&B to all the travellers who may be going for walks or doing the South Downs Way walk. Great place great people running it.

A lovely place to stop while walking the trail. Super clean and welcoming B&B with very good bedding and an excellent breakfast. Hosts are welcoming and helpful with whatever you need. Poynings is a sweet small village at the bottom of Devil's Dyke

My husband and I stayed in the "Lewes Room" for two nights in May. Mike was responsive to our emails before our stay concerning local trails, restaurants, etc. ||Sue was welcoming when we arrived, showing us to our cozy room and noting our preferences for breakfast the next day. The room was spotless, with an attached bath, comfortable bed with pressed linens, electric kettle and coffee/tea makings, and convenient lighting for reading in bed. Great view out the window to Sue's garden with the downs rising behind it. In the evening, you could see the fog rolling in over the hill. Ooh! Amazing.||Sue and Mike set out a fabulous spread for breakfast. Coffee and/or tea, cereals, fruit, toast, jams, and milk, and hot options like the "Full English" (DELICIOUS) and scrambled eggs on toast. The food was excellent, and piping hot. We stuffed ourselves so much that we really didn't need lunch. ||We met other guests at breakfast (there are just three rooms), who were in the middle of a multi-day South Downs ramble and related stories about their treks. As we sat in the dining room, we could see walkers passing by the house heading up to Devil's Dyke. We walked each day approximately 8-10 miles. There are so many paths just out the door, you could easily walk much less, or even farther. You could go out in the morning, return for lunch, and an ale, at the Royal Oak nearby, then go out for another walk in the afternoon.||Great Bed and Breakfast, fantastic hosts. Would definitely recommend to friends. We hope to stay with Mike and Sue again in the future.

So friendly and welcoming! Perfect place to stay after a 13mile hike along the South Downs Way in the wind and rain!
They let us in early and set up areas to dry our sodden boots and coats! The room was lovely, and the shower in the ensuite was very nice!
For breakfast we opted for bacon sandwiches to go as we didn't want to fill up before tackling a big hill, the sandwiches were so good, the bacon was perfect!
They also allowed our overnight bags and dog bed to be dropped off early on the Saturday and collected late on the Sunday, which was incredibly helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend the South Downs Way B&B to everyone.
