If you're in search of a breakfast spot that marries exceptional food with outstanding service, look no further than Barnard's Restaurant in Denmead, Hampshire. Having had the pleasure of dining here twice for breakfast, I can confidently say that this quaint eatery is a hidden gem that deserves a visit.

Barnard's is open from Tuesday to Saturday, and the only drawback is that it's not open all week! The anticipation of those five days of exquisite breakfasts is well worth the wait. The food here is simply outstanding. From the moment you take your first bite, you know you're in for a treat.

One of my personal favourites is their scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast. The eggs are cooked to perfection – creamy, fluffy, and rich in flavour, complemented beautifully by the delicate smokiness of the salmon. Topped with a sprinkle of fresh greens, this dish is not only a feast for the palate but also a delight for the eyes.

Another standout dish is their Eggs Benedict. Perfectly poached eggs, crispy bacon, and a generous helping of hollandaise sauce, all served on a toasted English muffin – it’s a classic done right. The sauce is velvety and rich, the bacon adds a wonderful crunch, and the eggs are cooked just right, with a runny yolk that ties all the flavours together.

The service at Barnard's is nothing short of excellent. The staff are attentive, friendly, and go out of their way to ensure that your dining experience is flawless. They have mastered the balance of being present without being intrusive, making sure your coffee is always topped up and your needs are met with a smile.

In conclusion, Barnard's Restaurant in Denmead is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality food and top-notch service. I’m very pleased that this restaurant is on our doorstep. The food and the service is exceptional. Lovely, friendly staff with a warm welcome. Savoury or sweet selections, I love it all. The cakes are delicious. I cannot recommend it highly enough here.

Absolutely loved the experience of an afternoon tea. The staff, SAS, Sue Amy and Sandra were lovely and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. They were backed up by DJ, David and Jack in the kitchen and provided us with a great assortment of cakes, sandwiches, scones etc. The bakewell blondie has been my favourite cake EVER. Thanks everyone. We’ll be back 😜

We have just had a delicious lunch in Barnards. We have lived within walking distance for 6months and kept meaning to go in and we were certainly not dissapointed. The restaurant is cosy and has lovely views of Denmead church with a nice seating area out back also. We had the fish and chips and the beef pie which were super tasty with excellent fresh vegetables. I also had a locally brewed ale which was great too. The staff were also very polite. We will definitely be back.

Out of this world is the words I’m hunting my cupboard for. Truly amazing service was after a set of pliers for my cuttle sink and glad I stumbled upon this contraption. Will be returning can’t ask for more even gave me a free bag to carry them in thanks Bernard’s cafe!

Just had full English breakfast & a pot of tea. Delicious! Hot, fresh and perfect portion size.

Another visit to Barnard's today. While there we sampled the #Vegan breakfast wrap which was apparently delicious (think it had falafel avocados peppers lettuce vegan chili mayonnaise) and also a couple of Cream Teas. All seating outside, staff wearing PPE, tables sanitised after use, contactless payments. Delicious.

Visited several times now for lunch but mainly breakfast.
Could be little more generous but food is decent with polite and courteous staff.
Little back courtyard more pleasant in nice weather and better than rather bland interior.
But good to have as option in village community x
