I have had dinner here several times. The ambiance and service is very good - welcoming and pleasant. The food is good too. There are 2 excellent dishes that I have often eaten. The confit of duck beautifully cooked with a crisp skin and tender flesh. The Jerusalem artichoke risotto really nice.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the chicken schnitzel at The Parsonage Grill in Oxford, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The schnitzel itself was beautifully golden and perfectly crisp, with a tender and flavorful interior that spoke to the quality of the ingredients and the care in preparation.

The dish was topped with a delicately fried egg, its yolk adding a rich and silky texture that complemented the crunchy schnitzel. The capers and fresh herbs on top introduced a briny and fresh element that elevated the overall flavor profile, making each bite more exciting than the last.

On the side, the smooth, creamy mashed potatoes were the perfect accompaniment—comforting and luxurious, providing a soft contrast to the crispy schnitzel. The presentation was simple yet elegant, showing the chef’s confidence in letting the quality of the food speak for itself.

Dining at The Parsonage Grill was an experience I won’t soon forget, and this chicken schnitzel is a must-try for anyone visiting Oxford. It’s a classic dish done to perfection, with thoughtful touches that make it truly memorable.

Well-run operation in a nicely reworked old building. The rooms were not huge, but were quite comfortable, the library was like a secret hideaway, and the restaurant felt like a private club, so we had more spaces than our rooms in which to relax (and rest and relax we most certainly did). Location is really nice: near where Banbury Rd and Woodstock Rd come together, so one has easy access northward to/from the A40/M40, yet the heart of town is only a short walk southward. Staff: very friendly, helpful, and attentive, without being intrusive. We're headed back here the next time we visit the area ...

We had a great time staying at the Old Parsonage in Oxford during a weekend away from London. It is centrally located enough to walk to nearby attractions, but just far enough off the beaten path to avoid the throngs of tourists in the city centre. They left a lovely birthday message and some special treats for us upon arrival, and the breakfast the next day was excellent in their serene and art-filled restaurant area. The only downside were the persistent bells ringing at St Giles church, which seemed to be quite interminable at times, but that is only during the day time so didn't affect our sleep. Otherwise a great hotel experience and we will definitely consider staying there again next time we're in Oxford.

This place dines out on an old reputation, which is clearly unwarranted. The food was so disappointing and service was young and untrained. They want to be the best restaurant in Oxford. It's not, it's far from it. I bet they give Hilary Clinton cleaner tables and chairs. No one seemed excited to work there. I will never go back. I feel robbed.

I am so disappointed I took my guests here. It was ranks. The whole afternoon could taste overcooked monkfish.

Very small pokey room. Barely room for our minimal luggage. Having said that very comfortable bed and pillows. Very quiet. A lovely breakfast each morning. Staff very friendly and nice. Would have liked a non slip mat for showing. Shower over bath and bath very deep and difficult to get in and out of. No hand rails. Front staircase horrendous. Use rear ones. Close to attractions and a couple of nice little pubs.

The Old Parsonage Hotel exceeded expectations for a week+ visit. A quiet, tastefully appointed and spotlessly clean room filled with many thoughtful touches. Food at the associated restaurant was excellent. Staff was lovely, and kudos to Jack who resolved a room service issue. As other reviewers have noted the hotel is a gem in an excellent location within walking distance of downtown Oxford. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem in the heart of Oxford, offering a luxurious room furnished to the highest standard, amazing food and consistently attentive staff. |We stayed in the Randolph suite, which was so perfectly finished there was not a hair out of place. A huge comfy bed, air conditioning and beautiful soft furnishing.|We had afternoon tea on the terrace, which great value and very tasty. In the evening we had dinner, again on the terrace under the huge heated umbrellas. The food was great, I had the rabbit pie and my partner the monkfish, both of which we great, the staff were attentive and friendly. |I had a named parking space and there were 2 EV charging points at the property.||We will definitely be back!
