Always love staying here. The staff are great, the bars and lounge areas are beautiful and I love the rooms. It was a little bit cold in the communal areas but chairs close to the fires helped. Shout out to the woman who served me in the Morse bar today on her first day, hope I was a good first customer!

Absolutely stunning hotel. The rooms are absolutely stunning. Ours was overlooking the monument and had very high ceilings. The decor was fantastic, all based around Alice in wonderland, even the lamps were based on it. The bathroom was beautiful. The public areas of the hotel were stunning and the staff were so pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. We dined a couple of evenings in the restaurant and the food was so tasty and very well cooked and presented. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the train station and quite central to the main shopping areas. We had an amazing time there and would love to go back soon.

Stayed one night in December 2024 whilst in Oxford to attend a concert. Overall, I had a very nice experience.||The hotel's location cannot be beat for exploring Oxford. It was right in the center of town, near the high streets, within easy walking distance to most of the major sites (e.g., Bridge of Sighs, Bodleian Library, Sheldonian Theatre, Ashmolean Museum) and stores (e.g., Blackwell's). The train station was about a 15-minute walk.||My king room was small, but well-appointed: very comfortable bed, desk, chair, and closet stocked with thoughtful amenities (tea, coffee, water, small fridge, etc.). The bathroom was well-designed, with good water pressure and modern fixtures. Linens and towels were nice. Curtains blocked out light well and the only noise was the creaky floors, a function of the historic building. Internet was free and fast.||I had an early breakfast on Sunday morning in the restaurant, which is a gorgeous space. The buffet had a very nice variety of cold options (fruit, meats and cheeses, pastries, etc.) and hot options (traditional English breakfast). ||Public spaces of the hotel are full of interesting artwork, especially the college shields hanging above the main staircase. The public areas and rooms have a sort of maximalist style that's suited to the hotel's history.||All staff were helpful and accommodating. ||Would happily return.

I checked into the Randolph Hotel in Oxford at midnight on January 27th, 2025, for a five-night stay. Unfortunately, this hotel falls far short of the standard expected from a five-star establishment. A five-star rating and heritage status should come with exceptional service, not just a fancy, modern interior.

Upon entering my room, I was shocked to find a pair of dirty socks left on the floor near the bed by a previous guest—a glaring oversight and a serious breach of cleanliness. The room was freezing cold, and the bathroom floor was unbearably cold as well. At 2 AM, all I wanted was to sleep, but instead, I had to wait for housekeeping to deliver a small portable radiator, which barely helped. I was also informed that the heating was centralized and that the control panel on the wall did not work for individual rooms. To make matters worse, I had to request a pair of slippers because walking on the ice-cold bathroom floor was impossible.

Later, a receptionist contradicted the housekeeper by claiming I hadn’t turned on the heating via the control panel—despite being told it was non-functional. After turning it on, the temperature improved, but I wasn’t able to sleep until 3 AM due to the ordeal.

The following day, I had to repeatedly request basic amenities such as body lotion and bottled water for the minibar, which were not replenished. For a supposed five-star hotel, these are basic items that should be provided without prompting. Additionally, the staff initially failed to update my booking with the correct name, despite confirming they would. Their responses were laced with ironic undertones, and their overall demeanor was unprofessional and untrained.

Throughout my stay, I’ve experienced long wait times for any request, and on several occasions, I’ve had to follow up with reception to receive what I needed, even though the hotel does not seem busy. Even a four-star hotel would offer slippers, water, and body lotion as a standard. The level of incompetence and lack of attention to detail here is unacceptable and extremely disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.

Nothing but incredible things to say about The Randolph. My jaw pretty well dropped when my husband and I walked in! It is gorgeous in design. Rooms are stunning with thoughtful decor, charming wallpaper, and comfortable beds. The breakfast is top-notch, and no other hotel breakfast will ever compare. Spending our mornings in The Alice was a dream. The staff is beyond-friendly and made us feel so welcome while visiting a new country. Oxford is a beautiful place with the warmest people. There are plenty of grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and antique shops within walking distance. We cannot wait to come back and stay here again! xx

Rooms are well cleaned and considering I had gotten a room on the first floor it had a large window looking over a charming historic building. Was not as impressed by front desk staff considering the 5 stars, as hadn’t gotten no information or directions about hotel outlets unless asking for it. On the other hand, restaurant staff was great, caring and friendly.

Stayed here in December for a birthday! Lovely location and history of building. Rooms were cosy and not a huge amount of room for suitcases. Though lovely and beautiful nonetheless.
