Feels like your own secret hotel. Small pavement entrance leads up to reception. Room was lovely, quiet, large comfy bed and great hot shower. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant but the place next door does delicious breakfasts (guests get a small discount) and it is so central that there are lots of options close by. Parking at Westgate shopping centre was easy and walkable. We did a walking tour of the city and also went to Blenheim Palace, which was full of history.

This hotel should not be advertised as 5 *. It is reasonably clean and good location but very basic. It is misleading to promote it as a 5 * at best it should be 3 * ||I stayed in the room with the window still unpleasant view and very dirty blind. The bed is not a double bed either. The safe is so small will not accommodate a laptop. ||carpet is smelly

Well...||On the plus side, the location of this hotel is excellent: right in the middle of Oxford. Also, the shower was very good. And the staff were very helpful and polite.||On the minus side, our room had no window, which gave our stay a very strange feel, like being in some kind of bunker... The decor was tired and no breakfast was included.||Given the price, not great value for money.

The establishment we booked as a five-star hotel is absolutely not a five-star venue. They deceive people by using the term “hotel” in their name, charging five-star prices while offering a subpar hostel experience, with booking.com also complicit in this deception. Do not stay here, and do not waste your money. They gave us a windowless room, which felt like a prison cell. There wasn’t even basic hand soap, and the dust was so bad that I couldn’t sleep at night. When we requested to move to a room with a window, they refused and did not refund our money.

There is no breakfast area in the hotel, and they try to direct you to a partnered restaurant. The bed wasn’t even a double. To make matters worse, we found bugs in the room. We are extremely disappointed and feel utterly scammed. Everything was below standard. Avoid this place at all costs.

This hotel is 5 star like I am a world class fighter pilot. It’s a 3 star and no more. No room service. No breakfast. No coffee machine. A small tv on a stark wall with a few channels. Very noisy on the street outside. ||The reception staff were lovely and welcoming, the bed was comfortable and the WiFi speed was good, but this is insanely overpriced for what is just a super basic inn.

The George Street hotel is located in an excellent city centre location. I was surprised that the entry was a small door and the reception was on the first floor.. There were no facilities, bar, restaurant etc. even less than a Travelodge or Premier Inn. The room was spacious but instead of a double mattress there were two single which made the bed quite uncomfortable. The reception staff were excellent but I will stay somewhere with breakfast and more facilities next time in Oxford.

This hotel is nothing to look at from the outside but when you get inside it’s a whole new view. Beautifully designed with lovely rooms. Nice miniature l’occitane products in the bathroom. Comfortable bed, cool crisp cotton bedding. Very clean and beautifully decorated. |The staff are very lovely. Very helpful and friendly. |Location is perfect. Everything within walking distance. No parking but we used the park and ride. £6 for 48 hours and the bus stops outside the hotel. Perfect.

Let me start with the good stuff: the location was outstanding. The fittings in the room were excellent and the bed was perhaps the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Full marks. The room was also extremely clean !!

However, the above attributes do not equate to a 5* experience. For that you need other facilities like a bar, restaurant, and comfortable reception area. Furthermore, the service at reception was chaotic

Putting the rating to one side however and considering the price in central Oxford I would recommend this hotel however. Price and experience are conducive to a 4 star hotel
