Place is awful. I arrived around 9pm as was travelling. The whole place stunk, corridors and room of smoke and weed. The room was dirty, both floors, bathroom and overall room. The bed was sunken. There were white liquid marks covering half of the mirror, I dread to think what it was. I am pretty certain the place was being used as a shelter, which I am not against but staff need to reinforce no smoking policies and noise disruptions. You could hear others loudly in there rooms and loud music also, doors kept banging every few minutes. I did not feel safe, I was staying on my own. I asked the receptionist if there was another room but she advised that's it is not a nice place to stay. She helped direct me to other local hotels. I left within 45 minutes and found my way to a premiere inn which was so so so much better. I actually felt safe and it was clean and peaceful. A lot of stress late at night post travelling for hours and extra cost but I would not have slept at all if stayed at the Travelodge in hickstead. I never write reviews but I don't want someone else stuck in my position.

Very helpful and lovely happy staff and willing to help every need. Being a long term resident myself I can not fault how brilliant everyone has been. Would definitely recommend to a friend or family member. Bed is very comfortable and room very spacious.

Reception team were pleasant but they queried whether I had paid in full for my stay. I showed proof of payment but they had to contact the hotel manager and customer servies. The issue was apparently because I had paid by Paypal. It got resolved but I had to spend 30 minutes in reception whilst they did that. I had a ground floor room which was clean and well presentated, however the water pressure in the shower was non-existent.

Room not referred really just a lick of paint and a picture on the wall. See photos for evidence.|It was dusty and the robotic goo er can't do the corners or sides of the room. Bathroom mouldy and generally poor condition. My urine stream is stronger than the shower which packed up totally so no water at all. Spare pillows had been used so got replaced it's a very poor refer. |Toilet hasn't been cleaned below the water line also the seat was loose.||Would I recommend... no would I stay again maybe....

I am a fan of travellodges and their competitors. Often better value than Airbnb and normally a good deal somewhere to be found.

Well sadly I give this one three stars. The room had a bizarre humming noise all night. Customer service were not so helpful and got confused. Bathroom was pretty gnarly. And some really nasty looking filth on the table by the coffee and tea and kettle. To this day I pray that brown horrible smelling thing was coffee…

Anyway. Lady asked me if I had any issues, so I told her them and told her I messaged customer services last night.

Customer services were confused and refunded me the money. The woman at the front desk had offered that I could have a few stays “on them” because of it.

Oh well. Got the refund but not the extra stay vouchers.

3 stars is all its really worth sadly. But needs must I suppose…

We broke down last night with our dogs and arrived soaked through and tired past midnight with no booking and Nichola was absolutely brilliant helping us book a room with the dogs and making sure we were all sorted. It was a much needed pleasant and helpful interaction after a rubbish evening! Thank you 🙏🏻

Standard Travelodge hotel, nothing out of the ordinary. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom could do with a bit of a freshen up, but otherwise absolutely fine.

Location is somewhat remote, but not far from shops, and only 20-30 minutes from multiple coastal towns.

Service from staff was excellent. All staff on front desk were polite and friendly. I stupidly left a personal possession in the room after checking out, however after a quick phone call in the evening, Gemma went and found my item, called me back and posted it out to me the next morning with not even a hint of inconvenience. Absolute lifesaver!

This travelodge is filthy. Nobody at reception when I checked in, I had to call a number for the guy to come and check me in, I'd travelled from Edinburgh so a long day, with my phone on just 2% , if it was dead I'd have had no way of getting in my room. When I got there as I said it was filthy.
I have complained to travelodge complaints but that was 1st February and I've still heard nothing back. I'd avoid this hotel if at all possible. Worst travelodge I've ever stayed in.
