This is a great little B & B if you want to visit places like the Black Country Museum or Dudley Zoo, even the shopping centre at the Merry Hill. also the train station is about a 10/15 minute walk away. I stayed in the single room, which although not having a vast amount of space, is perfectly adequate for a night or two. It was very quiet in the evening which is what I like rather than having traffic roaring past outside. ||||Although a cooked breakfast isn't offered there are loads of cereals, bread, various teas, coffee, a toaster, microwave, fridge. You couldn't really ask for much more. You can even take food back there to eat in the breakfast room in the evening, cook it in the microwave. Leave the plates and things and they'll wash them all up!||||Mike and Carolyn also showed me a self contained apartment that they have, it was empty during my stay. This is a briilliant space if you need to spend a longer period of time away. There's every conceivable pot and pan, cutlery or kitchen gadget that you might need in there to cook a pretty good meal. A 2 ring hob and a dishwasher. A neat window too. This is on the ground floor, the room I stayed in is on the first. Ground floor window has glass that you can see out of but no-one can see in from the outside.||||All in all, a good place to stay. Hosts are friendly and informative. Would certainly recommend

We had to find accommodation with little, or no time to arrange things and therefore were not expecting to be overly pleased. We were therefore delighted to find that we were warmly welcomed and Mike was very helpful in pointing out things that would be of interest to us. If I found myself back in the area and needing to find accommodation, I would make a point of looking up Mike & Carolyn to see if they had a room for me to stay in. There was plenty to eat with a well stacked fridge and fruit bowl on the table.

The owners were friendly and welcoming, I stayed at the B&B for one night in the single room which had a TV and tea making facilities. The bathroom was shared but this was not a problem as it was next door to my room and I had it to myself anyway. It is quite a small establishment but it was quiet and clean, and the owner gave me information on the B&B facilities and getting to Bilston. The room looked out to a view of a horse in a field which I didn't expect being in a fairly urban area. The breakfast room was upstairs on the same level as the bedrooms and it was help yourself when you want it, you had the usual choice of cereals, toast, jam, marmalade, meat & cheese, tea, coffee etc. There was an appliance to cook an egg if you wanted. There is a pub within walking distance where you can have a drink and sit out on a veranda and watch the world go by. In Bilston itself which is about two miles away, there are plenty of pubs and eating places, so it's good for The Robin 2 if you are going to see a band there. If you are a bit fussy about things and require loads of space in your room this probably isn't the place for you but otherwise this is a perfectly decent place to stay.

ok .... this place is not perfect but for the price it is stunning value and I mean 5 out of 5 for value.||||The apartment is not an apartment. it is a v small room with a single bed next to the front door which stays locked due to the v rough area this new hosing estate is surrounded by.||||The cooker is a 4 ring electric, but no room to swing a cat and no sink or sharp knives etc. there is a george forman grill type thing but no room to chop anything bigger than a something you would look at in a microscope as the owners have tried hard to please and put everything in they can think of but forget using what they have put in the room means you need work surface space. I am guessing now after they read this they will add a chopping board to balance on your knee as they like to say the room has it all lol||||Upside though is fridge and small freezer for refreezing ice blocks for your cool box. coffee machine that is great (sadly there is not one in the room where you eat that is also tiny upstairs) and the shower is good even if it does say on it pay the meter or it will go cold but I could not find one!!!||||Other strange quirks. DVD heaven if you like them, In my room they were free if a bit strange on subject matter or films you have never heard off. Other DVD's and there are lots can be rented for £1 . mmmm we have the internet now so I suspect they dont make much from the hire||||another daft quirk is how proud they are of food hygiene( we were told this on the grand tour that took 20 min but could have taken 2 min!!!) yet ....... they dont cook you a breakfast so its simply for having a fridge and not providing sour milk. ||||In summery||||far far to much clutter from people who are over keen to please so want to offer everything. A bit like your granny who kept offering you yet more cake even though you had had 5 slices and would throw it up but she wanted to spoil you and did not know when to stop.||||last point: yes space is tight. yes its quirky, yes they try to hard but ....... amazing value and puts far plusher places to shame for more than double the money. yes its not high luxury but its one of the best value places I have ever stayed.

Absolutely fantastic stay I had there,Mike is a legend.Theres nothing he won't do for you,such a nice bloke👌
Rooms are nice and cozy, extremely comfortable bed and a huge selection of cereals, yoghurt,fresh juices.
Would love to stop there again, worth every penny.

lovely place to stay ,nice and quiet, lovely and clean, the hosts are amazing and very informed in whats going on in the area, there is a lovely kitchen area with all the gadgets you could possibly need for a gourmet meal a lovely comfortable stay , it has rail links near by to Wolverhampton and Birmingham. lots to see and visit in the area. near by Dudley has lots to see and do, I would certainly recommend this b&b for the perfect stay in the black country and I will be back when im back in the area, thanks mike and carolyn

The couple who run the B&B are very pleasant and helpful.||The property is clean, has a good selection for breakfast and free parking on the front doorstep. ||The location is well situated for Dudley, Wolverhampton and even Birmingham for work and Dudley Canal Trust and the Black Country museum for Leisure.||Very reasonable price! We will stay there again.

Very clean, very friendly and a central place to situate yourself if travelling to the ‘Black Coutry’ & musuems. Food good and a lovely couple who actually let you get on with it. Who are very helpful if there’s a problem and good advisors of the area or for that matter anywhere In The Midlands. Will visit again that’s an absolute promise.
