Just returned from one night stay at the Moxy. Easy to park in their dedicated car park and it is a nice 10 minute walk around the lake to get to the hotel. Would be pretty miserable if it was raining though. You get a yellow chip when entering the car park and give this to reception you get 50% discount. Still pretty pricey £12 for parking though. Room small compact and clean. Ok for one night, would not want to stop any longer. No view just the car park. Tea/coffee and kettle in room. Air conditioning unit broken however did not affect our stay. Bed a bit too hard for me so I didn’t sleep so well. Was quiet and no noise. Breakfast in the morning was fine a good mixture of English breakfast, pastry’s, fruit, toast etc thus overall a nice one nights stay.

Disappointed in my stay to say the least. Overall, you can’t fault the facilities, the hotel is lovely, the staff were always friendly to us and the amenities are good but if you want to sleep do not book this hotel. Soundproofing is non existent! ||The first night we stayed, myself and my partner were woken up by the room above us (at 2:45am) with loud music and heavy footsteps. We brushed the sound off and tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t until 3:30am when the music cut off (I imagine someone else had made a complaint which is why it had stopped). My partner managed to fall back asleep but I was constantly woken up by noise throughout the night. Our second night the same happened (this time 1am). We were going to try to sleep, but my partner called the hotel as we were so fed up at this point, and an employee came out to help. In all fairness he was lovely (also very apologetic) and sorted the matter promptly, but we were awake again for over an hour. ||We don’t mind a bit of music every now and again, but this completely ruined our experience. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying here again - which is a shame because we liked the hotel! My advice, stay elsewhere. Or, sleep with ear plugs and layer them up with ear defenders.

Didn’t like the fact there were no drawers and a few hangers on a rail so lived out of my suitcase for five days. Food was poor didn’t bother with breakfast in the end. Think most of it was frozen stuff. Didn’t like the grunge urban vibe felt like a nightclub rather than a hotel. Cleaner was asked to come back later as I was needing to rest and get ready for events. They never came back for the whole duration. No water was supplied to the room. Tried to get charged three times for parking and even one breakfast when it was already included. |Perfect location for the NEC, staff friendly beds comfortable nice pillows but apart from that I didn’t really enjoy it. For the price I expected something a little bit special and didn’t realise they didn’t have a bath. Perfect for a no thrills one night stopover to attend a work or NEC event.

Hotel was okay as was the cleanliness. however at 9:30 am when checkout on the website says 12, I was about to use the shower and had someone unlock my room and come in asking what time I was checking out, I promptly got my stuff and left, for £150 I wouldn’t think they’d come into my room without permission asking when I would leave 2 and a half hours before I need to. Wouldn’t recommend

I’ve stayed here twice now. It’s a decent hotel for just a night or two. Rooms are compact, clean with basic tv channels. Shower was lovely and hot, with good pressure. However on my 2nd stay, the basin and shower seemed to drain very slowly so they definitely have blockage issues. The most annoying thing is being able to hear heavy footsteps from the room above you when you want to get to sleep. This seems regular occurrence. Buffet breakfast was ok, however the bacon was a bit too chewy for my liking and it would have been nice to have a fried egg option rather than just scrambled. Well located for Birmingham NEC. Cheap and cheerful, friendly staff.

The one downside is the under bed lighting. Facilities and staff really pleasant, but the fact that low level lighting automatically comes on if your leg or arm flops out of the bed kills a good night's sleep if your partner goes to the loo etc. Great location for NEC, airport, retail, rail links. Staff were mega-helpful with left luggage. Pretty solid breakfast, but avoid the sausages.

If asked, the staff will apparently cover the light sensor with electrical tape.

Great modern hotel with a good vibe throughout. Friendly staff, good breakfast and well maintained rooms. Bar open until late and a small gym available. Would definitely stay again when back at the NEC. Minutes walk to resorts works where there is lots of food and entertainment options.

The Moxy Hotel in Birmingham, part of the Marriott Group, completely exceeded my expectations.||From the moment I checked in, I was impressed by the exceptionally friendly, helpful, and patient staff. Their outstanding service was a highlight throughout my stay.||The decor is modern and stylish, likely designed with younger guests in mind. However, even as an "old guy," I felt incredibly comfortable and at home. The rooms are immaculate: clean, cozy, and contemporary. Everything feels fresh and inviting—nothing worn out or outdated.||The bathroom is quite compact but perfectly adequate, offering everything you need in a practical way.||In summary, the Moxy Birmingham is an excellent choice for anyone who values style, comfort, and outstanding service. I would gladly book this Marriott brand again and highly recommend it to others.
