Stopped of for an evening meal after going to the pictures. Great choice of pub food although my first choice of Steak & kidney pudding was sold out so I had the steak and ale pie with mash and veg very tasty. Nice beers on tap good service .

We visited on a Saturday evening for a family birthday. The food was great and good service. Desserts were nice and big, sadly I didn’t get a picture before we dug in!
Lovely classic pub atmosphere. Would be good if they had menus as you have to read off the board which an older guest found difficult, but ultimately we had a lovely meal. Will be returning.

We've been cooking here for years, and the food had always been really good. However we've come away tonight feeling really disappointed and won't be going back in a hurry. The steak and ale pie used to be legendary here, but now the portions are tiny and just don't have that "home cooked" feel anymore. £16 for 6 or 7 chunks of meat with a very regular (processed) pastry topper feels a little much. The falafel burger and kids burger we had came straight out of a packet.
Really disappointed - used to be our go to pub for a local meal out.

Service was bad as well, run by two kids- no adult or experienced host/hostess. They asked “have you booked” like there was going to be some rush on the tables. Absolutely dead empty inside but we were crammed into the “stable tables” at the back. Got fed up and moved of our own accord to more comfortable seats in the empty pub. We weren’t given any menus and were told to stand and look at the chalk board. After five-ten minutes of looking we couldn’t find anything only to then be given a separate sandwich menu—- well why not start with giving us a complete menu that we can sit and read instead of standing up like cattle and save everyone time! 🤨🤨

Had Prawn+Marie Rose sandwiches and I can say it is the most vile meal I’ve ever had at a pub. Literally supermarket bread, thin processed and tasteless. Very few prawns. Salad accompanying had no dressing and looked amateurish. Expensive too- and no chips or crisps accompanying the sandwich. All told the meal was very expensive for food that was very bland and totally unacceptable. We felt well and truly ripped off. And the icing on the cake is that the two kids serving had no idea what a VAT receipt was (which I needed for expenses) so that just sums it up. Clueless, tasteless, expensive and zero atmosphere. Really the worst pub I’ve experienced in my life and everyone in my party agreed. Absolutely shocking, avoid!!
