Went for lunch in 'The Wooly' today, with my wife. Got a lovely warm welcome. Ushered to a nice warm spot by the cosy fire where we sat to view the menu over a jolly nice cup of tea. There's an extensive lunchtime menu. My wife went for the curried lamb topped jacket potato, whilst I opted for the burger and fries. I have to say, it was the best pub burger I've ever eaten. Perfect cooked, a little rare, how I like it. Fries were super hot and crisp too. Tracey's spud was equally delicious. Very reasonably priced too. Highly recommended and I will be back!

I stopped over while working in the area. Pleased to find a traditional English inn. Very friendly service including being shown up to room. A very spacious room with a view of the church yard. The room had modern amenities with the en-suite and a massive TV. There is a quirky feel you would expect with a building of this age and heritage. Floors did slope a little and corridors meandered with a few step changes. Great place for a stay if you want to feel some English heritage.|Free coffee to take away in the morning.

Lovely place to stay, rooms are spacious and had a very large, comfortable bed.
Lots of authentic charm about the building. Our room could have done with a slight update in some places and the crunching toilet can be disruptive, if you're not used to one but overall very nice room
Staff were lovely and very helpful, took the time to make sure we were happy. The pub itself is excellent and again, seems to feel like your back in olden times.
Fully recommend.

Well done Gary & team. Lovely quirky old building with modern fixtures & fittings. Fabulous dinner menu, the fish & chips are delicious, a ‘must have’ for every guest. Comfortable room and amenities. We’ll definitely be back.

This is a mixed review so I'll do pros and cons.

Pros
- Excellent service with really friendly staff
- Beautiful room with big, comfortable bed and luxurious linens
- Nice big bath in bathroom
- Really nice and clean throughout
- Pub downstairs is really nice and atmospheric

Cons
- The plumbing makes the most ungodly racket. I've attached a video to show I'm not exaggerating. It's a misophonic's nightmare.
- This one is kind of scroogey, but there was a quiz on in the pub the night we stayed and it was SO loud in our room. We were both wiped out, and just wanted to sleep, but weren't able to until the quiz night wound down. If you're sensitive to noise, check what's on in the pub the night you're staying.
- The food was a bit disappointing. Winter salad was literally just various leaves without any discernible dressing. Breakfast was good though.

We hired the Woolpack barn for our wedding in Sept 2024 and we are so happy that we did! ||We had the most INCREDIBLE time. Everything went so smoothly thanks to Charlie, Duane and the whole team at the Woolpack.||The venue is a beautiful English barn, conveniently positioned in the centre of Tenterden town meaning guests could arrange accommodation nearby and it’s within walking distance of the church where we had our ceremony.||We had full flexibility with decorating the barn which we were able to do the day before. It didn’t need much as the barn/venue itself has a lot of character which we loved! Charlie recommended Village Vintage Hire who we hired the rustic banquet tables and chairs from for 90 people. These worked well in the barn, matching the vibe.||As local wedding venues go, we were so impressed with the price of the venue hire and the food and wine packages available, there's a lot of flexibility with your choice of food and drink depending on the size/ style of your wedding. There was no hire fee meaning it was more than reasonably priced for the quality of food, wine, and service we received.||The food and wine was delicious!! Charlie hosted a food and wine tasting before the wedding and we chose a three-course wedding breakfast. They accommodated our guests’ dietaries very well. We loved the food, especially the vegetarian options including a delicious truffle mushroom risotto. Massive thanks to the head chef and kitchen team! The wine went down really well too. We opted for the indulgent drinks package with the Leslie Reserve Gold Brut for our toast. ||There is a great garden area next to the barn where we had our reception drinks and canapés on arrival. The festoon lighting looked very pretty in the evening too. There is also a brilliant climbing frame for kids which kept our flower girls entertained all day allowing their parents to enjoy the party!||After the wedding breakfast, the team cleared away the tables and the band set up for the evening party. Everything went seamlessly thanks to the team’s hard work. We also had hot canapés in the evening, which again, our guests said they really enjoyed!||The rooms at the Woolpack were reserved for our guests and we stayed in Nanette’s Rose, the bed was super comfortable, and we really enjoyed breakfast the next morning. The lady serving us was lovely.||We can’t thank the Woolpack team enough! Everyone working in preparation and throughout the celebrations were so kind. They all worked so hard, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Our guests have commented since the wedding about how attentive the team were, no one wanted for anything and there were no queues at the bar. We are so grateful to the whole team. A massive thank you to you all!||We just loved it from start to finish, and our guests have all said how much fun they had too. ||Katharine & Paul

We stayed at the Woolpack for two nights to allow us to meet up with friends who live nearby. It was easy to find in the middle of Tenterden and we managed to park in the car park at the rear (it's reserved for guests). |It's a lovely old building dating back to the 15th century and hardly seems to have changed over the years. We had a superior room which looked out onto the churchyard so it was very quiet and we slept well. The bedroom offered plenty of space and the large bed was very comfortable. During a recent 'renovation' they have managed to include a modern en-suite separated from the bedroom by a glass partition with sliding door while retaining the exposed wooden beams - very clever.|As you would expect for a building of this age there are sloping floors and walls everywhere but that wasn't a problem. |Bedding and towelling were changed for our second night which was a pleasant surprise. |We didn't have dinner in the hotel but breakfast was very good and was cooked to order with very good quality bacon and perfect poached eggs. |The only down side was the macerator which was very loud, it must have been heard across the hotel, it's a shame that they haven't been able to incorporate normal toilet piping.

We had the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had at the Woolpack . The pub is gorgeous, staff are lovely - funny and professional - my partner had the roast beef and I didn’t get a word out of him for the whole meal as he was enjoying it so much. I don’t eat meat and have suffered at the hands of dubious nut roasts across the entire county of Kent, but not at the Woolpack! Amazing nut roast - crispy and delicious. The vegetables were also stars in their own right - nothing heated up in a microwave etc. . . And the Yorkshire pudding was superb . . Love Love Love this Sunday roast, and would literally crawl on hands and knees from North Kent to go again . . ❤️
