We popped in to The George for Sunday Lunch today . We are local , yet hadn’t eaten in here since it changed hands some while back . We had an excellent experience from the moment we arrived. The service was excellent as was the beer and wine . However the stand out feature was the absolutely delicious Sunday Roast. We both ordered the Pork and chicken combination with all the trimmings and the food was very tasty and the portion was very generous, great Yorkshire pudding and lovely crispy crackling on the pork . So our compliments go to the the young ( in comparison to us ! ) chef , Jake . We definitely won’t leave it so long before returning!

My wife and I stayed overnight Sunday while attending a party locally.|We booked a Superior Room with a Shower and were highly impressed.|We received a very warm welcome and our room was really smart, spacious and comfortable.|Our room had a fridge that included little bottles of fresh milk to accompany a cup of tea - very thoughtful .|Every Breakfast item was freshly prepared including a stem of vine tomatoes with the Full English breakfast. |We have had enjoyed lunch here before but this was the first time that we have visited since a change of management and the first time that we have stayed. |We were delighted with our stay and look forward to the opportunity to return!

We had a lovely weekend staying at The George. A warm welcome from everyone in the team that we met; a beautiful room with everything we could want; and simply, quite unexpectedly wonderful, food!
AND they are well known for their choices of ales.....

Of course, server Ellie was a delight. Other staff members did well too - roast dinner was ok , could do better roast potatoes myself to be fair . Hot chocolate wasn’t hot apparently, and one family member didn’t rate the salmon dish.|… but otherwise ok - nice pub & good menu , clearly popular

An excellent place to stay, in an attractive old village. Spacious, well equipped and comfortable bedrooms. Delicious cooked-to-order breakfasts. Good beer. Cozy and characterful bar and dining room. Very friendly and efficient service. A short walk from the railway station, with regular trains to Charing Cross.

The food the service and the destination amazing. Nothing bad I could say about this place. And the pistachio Profiteroles was to die for so so good! When we visit again The George Inn will 100% be on our list.

Stayed here for 2 nights, got a pleasant welcome, we had the room over the entrance which was fine,not the biggest room in the world but for the price, very good value, comfortable bed, the only thing missing was a wardrobe. For breakfast I had the full English which was outstanding, sausages were absolutely banging. We ate here one evening and again the food was delicious, overall, great pub in a great location, doubt we'll be back again this way for a long while but would certainly recommend to anyone coming this way, thanks for a very decent stay.

A well restored Beautiful old pub in quiet but quaint village .Lovely room , bed very comfortable, very nice en suite. Food was delicious. Free parking and guest WiFi Best off all was Liz (front of house). Very welcoming and very friendly , lovely lady. We will definitely go back, well worth a visit.
