I stayed two nights at the White Lion for a little break with my Mum and we had the most perfect stay! The rooms were clean, well decorated and were very well equipped. Matty was extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble - we were very well looked after. We had a delicious roast on the Sunday too which we could not fault. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Thank you Matty & the White Lion team.

Had a couple of cheeky nights away with the missus over Christmas. Checked-in with Hannah who was a delight. She showed us up to our large room, which overlooked the characterful High Street. Beds were lovely and springy and the pillows provided ample support. Food was good quality and a nice range of drinks, both on tap and from the bottle. Ellie behind the bar was lovely and cheerful even when it was busy busy busy. Would recommend.

The White Lion when it was built, would have been a coaching Inn. As such it oozes character. Our room was warm and comfortable, and had everything we needed. All the meals we had (breakfast & dinner) were of superb quality. ALL the staff were polite, friendly and genuine. Not a false smile in sight!
Well done team. We not hesitate to stay again.

We stayed at the White Lion on New Year’s Eve. We received a very warm welcome from Matty and his staff. Nothing was too much trouble for Matty. My husband has mobility problems and Matty was helpful and considerate - helping up and down stairs.
Our room was a little small for us but very clean, warm and comfortable. As was the en-suite We were perfectly happy with it.
The breakfast was excellent. A choice of fruits etc and pastries followed by a beautifully cooked breakfast- of which there was a very good choice. In particular our vegetarian friend was well catered for. Also, plenty of coffee.
The location is excellent on the high street and there is plenty of parking at the hotel.
We were given to understand that Matty has only been in charge for about a month - he is doing a very good job.
I would highly recommend the White Lion.

A one night stay as we were attending a function elsewhere in Tenterden. A lovely, quirky room as one might hope to have in an old inn such as this. Absolutely spotless and well- appointed with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was as good as one could hope to get. Staff were friendly and helpful. Private car park behind the Hotel. What's not to like.

Had new year's day lunch in the pub and the food was delicious! Really lovely fresh sea bass and turbot mains, Dorset crab and crayfish for starter, yummy homemade bread & butter pudding dessert. A great wine list. Our waiter the restaurant manager was a sweetheart, exceptional service ❤️

From checking in to leaving the staff were friendly and welcoming to us. We had a snack lunch, an evening meal and breakfast and the food was excellent with lovely staff serving us. The room was excellent and so comfortable. The furnishing had been put together so well and we rated this as one of the best we have stayed in. Thought the honesty baskets were another special treat should anyone want a snack. The bed was so comfortable and pillows also. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom too. We will be back as the facilities made our visit a happy one. Well done to all at the White Lion!! Thank you
