Stayed for a week while visiting Oxford and chose Red Mullions due to convenient transport links and price. Location was a big plus point, walkable to lots of shops/pubs/restaurants in Headington and directly by the bus stop with frequent service to/from Oxford city center, also airports and London. We also walked into Oxford one day.||King Room was spacious as promised and had all the amenities needed (mini fridge, hairdryer, wardrobe, etc). Bedding and towels were clean, bathroom was snug but fairly modern, although water pressure wasn't the best. All staff we encountered were polite and responsive to questions/requests. Continental breakfast was included in our booking and offered a decent variety of standard items, including yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast/crumpets, etc. Overall we felt our stay met expectations, and would classify this as a solid 3-star property. It did the job and we didn't have any major complaints, but we were not overly "wowed" by anything either.||A few constructive criticisms: the bathroom fans are incredibly loud yet ours didn't seem to do very much. The lighting in the room was also not ideal - would have liked bedside lamps additional to the overly bright wall and ceiling light fixtures. There were also quite a few (thankfully dead) spiders/crane flies on the floor of our room when we arrived, maybe vacuuming could be more thorough. Housekeeping was otherwise very good with replenishing towels, toilet roll, etc.

Quirky, quiet, comfortable. Good location.

The great thing about using a local, independent guest house is the individual character each place can have. Here it’s quirky whilst also being clean, warm and comfortable.

The outside is welcoming with a surprisingly large number of parking spaces given the size of the plot.

Even arriving late one evening, booking and checking in was still hassle free.

We spent just one night here in a family room: one double bed and one single bed with en suite. We all slept well.

Decor is 'interesting’. A strange mixture of of old and new that clashes but, for me, added to the charm of the place.

The room was excellent with facilities that could teach the chains a thing or two e.g. USB charging points on the sockets, a fully adjustable TV bracket and plenty of milk for hot drinks.

The location is far enough out from the centre to be quiet but close enough to allow easy access via car or bus.

If we’re visiting again, this is where we’ll stay.

Stayed a number of times and thoroughly enjoyed every stay. Very welcoming and comfortable. Love the little touches of biscuits, hot chocolate and bathroom accessories. Can't wait to return.

Julie was a fabulous host. My booking error was not held against me and I appreciated her understanding. Our room was cosy, homely, well equipped and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The location was perfect as the bus stops right outside. We will definitely stay again .

The Red Mullions in Oxford is quite possibly the best “bed and breakfast” in the city. From the moment you arrive, it's clear that comfort and luxury are at the heart of their service. The rooms are nothing short of superb - spacious, beautifully decorated and with modern en-suite bathrooms and facilities such phone charger and cable TV. Every corner of the property is immaculately clean, reflecting their meticulous attention to detail.

What really sets The Mullions apart is the outstanding staff who provide exceptional service, and the wonderful breakfast experience, a real boost to start the day exploring the city and its beautiful surroundings.

Although the price is slightly higher than some alternatives, it's worth every penny for the quality, comfort and experience you get.

The only downside is its location (Headington); although it could be within walking distance for most people, some others may prefer to take the local bus that takes you into the heart of the city in 10 minutes.

Otherwise, The Red Mullions at Oxford is a perfect choice for anyone looking for an unforgettable base from which to explore this
historic location.

I travelled to Oxford with my partner who was having a heart operation at the John Radcliffe Hospital. I had three nights booked at this Guest House but due to delays we needed a double room. Pami was kindly to able to accommodate us and give me a single room the next day!||As the hospital discharged my partner on the third day I did not need a room that night. Again there was no problem only staying the two nights. I was not charged for the cancelled night.||I am very grateful to the understanding I received. We felt very welcome. The rooms are perfect, en suite with comfortable beds. There is a good choice of a continental breakfast.||There are buses very nearby to central Oxford and it is a short walk to the various hospitals if that’s why you are visiting. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Can't rave about this place enough, took amazing care of our family during a difficult time, Julie went out of her way to make sure everyone had a place to sleep, even when other accommodation let us down at the last minute. |Sparkling clean and very comfortable rooms. Always hot water and sky TV and wifi (very important for younger members of the family). Super quiet and peaceful rooms even with the road nearby (double glazing!) and when fully booked. A lovely garden at the back as well. Safe parking off the road. |Breakfast includes crumpets (a personal favourite!) as well a whole range of other food to please everyone no matter how picky. |Easy walking distance to both John Radcliffe and Churchill hospitals as well as plenty of lovely shops and restaurants. Bus stop right in front to go into central Oxford. |Clean, friendly, comfortable and welcoming. An absolute gem of a find.

Julie did a wonderful job making my first stay in Oxford a pleasure! She is a welcoming host and always has a "good morning my lovely" on hand to brighten your day. The rooms are clean and quiet in addition to a great complimentary breakfast. Oh those crumpets with Nutella! Thanks a million Julie!
