Background: we usually come to London to biz conferences, combined with West End shows and theatre and museums. Restaurant for lunch, grocery shopping a sandwich / salad dinner in the hotel room. Lots of walking downtown. For this, The Moorgate was PERFECT! While it's in a busy area, the room was really quiet. Very well lit. Good heating, spaceous bathroom, lots of room for clothes and stuff. Staff is quick to answer and very kind and helpful. Would return 100%

I traveled with friends and we stayed in three units. We all liked the property a lot. It was clean, comfortable, and generally quiet inside. Air conditioning worked very well. Lots of convenient train lines in the area. A few things to note for prospective travelers: most of the rooms face the street, and there can be some typical city street noise. My room was an interior-facing room (one per floor - see attached floor plan) with no view, which I personally love because it was quiet. But the curtains did have a lot of gaps on the sides and the light from the alley and next building came through at night. My friends had the one-bedroom suite which was nice for privacy, but they said they could hear noise and conversations from next door when in the living room. I could also feel a slight rumble from the tube in my first-floor room, with trains stopping after midnight and starting back up in the morning. I'm not sure if higher floors would feel it less. Most rooms have a washer/dryer but not all, so be sure to request that with your reservation if you need one. It was a typical small unit that takes a long time to dry and can wrinkle clothes easily if you put too much inside, but still very helpful for long trips. Others have mentioned the lack of closet space, so you should be OK with hanging clothes on exposed racks. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property as long as the above drawbacks aren't a concern for someone.

Highly recommended. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Even if it's just a text message, they can help quickly. The location is very convenient. The room is clean and has everything. The cleaning staff is also very friendly. I love it.

Pros:||- Studio apartment style, so you get the stove, fridge, microwave, oven and counter to cook. ||- The kitchen appliances and bed were good. ||- The space was good enough for one to two people. ||- Staff were friendly via phone call and text support.||||Cons: ||- No onsite reception during my stay.||- The AC in my unit was broken, I had to open and crack my windows in order to cool off. ||- The shower drain was terrible, it kept overflowing, so I had to keep the water pressure low. ||- The side table lights never worked. ||- The main room lighting switch was at the door so in order to turn off the lights I had to walk to the front door and back in the dark or use my cell phone's flash light to see. ||- The check in process for my stay was terrible, I booked with my company's program Navan that booked with Booking.com; long story short I was left waiting to check in sitting by the stair case for about 40 mins waiting for my company to confirm that my booking was legit because they needed to see the card on file. I came off a 11+ hour flight, took an 1 hour and half Uber ride only to be told no access until confirmed. Insane. ||- I happened to be staying on the end of a month to a start of new month which also meant monthly new building codes. That was a pain in the butt to deal with. ||||||Overall, what I thought would be a good experience in a cute hotel/apartment style became so much more of a hassle than staying at a normal hotel. I won't be back and I don't recommend unless you are purely on vacation and not on business. Being on a time crunch and having to work early days to late nights it was more exhausting to be here which sucks even more.
