We had a lovely meal in the restaurant yesterday evening. Upon visiting Nantwich for one night we were looking for a vegan option so were pleased to find The Crown offers a suitable burger. The waitress was lovely and very kindly informed us of what was available to us chip-wise, using the vegan fryer (note: fries not hand-cooked chips). She was really considerate and that was very much appreciated. The burger was a Beyond Burger, which is available in many places, but the way it was dressed and served was👌. Compliments to the chef! Thank you.

We visited this charming and characterful hotel in mid December so were prepared for there to be Christmas parties happening etc but it was way worse than we could have imagined, was very noisy all night particularly when the nightclub behind hotel kicked out at 4:00 AM. The rooms have a mish mash of dated furniture, but that's ok, bathrooms are updated which is good but the beds (both ours and the one in our friends room) were awful, really uncomfortable. At breakfast things did not improve, there did not appear to be enough staff on, we were repeatedly trying to catch someone for this and that, we chose the full breakfast which includes cooked breakfast in addition to cereals, pastries etc and although we eventually got most of the cooked breakfast there was no evidence of any of the other items and none were offered - we are used to these being available on a buffet type arrnangement. When we queried the lack of the rest of the breakfast at check out, we were told it was our fault for not asking for it.

We came here for a birthday meal after finding 20% of on their website for Thursdays if seated before 7:30pm. When coming to pay the bill and presenting proof of this 4 different staff members were sent over to ‘check’. We were told this wasn’t valid and it was from an archived website 8yrs ago but it stated the website was made and active in 2024 on the bottom. After having the manager shove his phone into our faces in an aggressive manor demanding us to find it on his phone he then went on to make a few patronising comments. He made it clear he wasn’t going to give us the 20% of or anything as a gesture of goodwill considering that if the website is still activar it’s false advertising. We felt it was handled extremely inappropriately and if handled better we would have been happy to pay full price (we did anyway). It’s a shame as we have been a few times but unfortunately we don’t feel comfortable to return after being treated with such a hostile attitude.

We spent two nights in this hotel, so full of character, the staircase has to be seen to be believed it’s like being on an old galleon. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was of good quality. A good position in the centre of Nantwich and with a free car park from which you can pick up a lovely walk along the river and lakes.||Would highly recommend staying here.

We had our wedding reception at the Crown 6th September and have got to say what a fantastic day we had. The room was dressed to perfection, the staff were attentive and the food was superb in the afternoon and evening. A few guests stopped overnight at the Crown and all were complimentary. A massive thank you to Abbi and her team!

Quaint Elizabethan grade 1 listed building. We stayed one night after going to a wedding evening party. We enjoyed a lunch in the bar before we went out and a nightcap in the bar on our return enjoying our surroundings. A very unusual old building.

We had a shared Sunday lunch which was absolutely delicious. It was my husbands birthday. We had great service from the staff . The restaurant was very busy but the food came quickly and was very hot.Definitely recommend the crown for food , it's always very good.

Stayed the night of Friday 8th November in room 6. The room, as with the bathroom, was truly disappointing, not so much tired as exhausted. Yes, the hotel is a magnificent graded one listed buliding, more than 400 years old, yet the room and its furnishings neither reflected that age or attempted to be of today. The water in the bathroom tap was too hot to touch, while the water in the bath was at best tepid. There was a remoteness and a lack of welcome to the service we received both at reception and in the restaurant. All in all, our visit was disappointing, while our visit to Nantwich was great.
