Had an overnight stay in Woburn last weekend. Longs provided a friendly and cosy place to stay for the night at incredible value. Highly recommended.
The only small negative was that I was looking forward to a cooked breakfast that was advertised when I booked however when leaving the building at about 09.00am on a Sunday there were no staff on duty and definitely no smells of food being cooked. I guess I just picked a bad day but never mind.

Not to the hotel to stay, but for a lovely meal out. Booked over the phone... very helpful manageress. Arrived and were serviced Tring Brewery 'Side Pocket', also Guinness and other lagers and ales in their well stocked bar. Food was chillie squid as a starter and fish & chips main course for me. Sunday roast beef for my partner, all cooked to perfection. Incredible value for money too. Dog friendly in the bar (not the restaurant of course). Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Regulars nice too and friendly in the bar. A nice find for us.

I stayed here last minute due to fatigue and could not sleep until midnight when the pub closed due to the noise downstairs which could be clearly heard from my room. If you charge for rooms within your pub they should be positioned at adequate distance away from the pub so that those paying for a room can sleep especially on a weekday. At 11pm I came down out of bed and asked when the pub would shut and explained I cannot sleep due to the noise below, I was told it would close in approximately another half hour. The pub eventually closed at 12am. I don’t usually complain but this coupled with the apathetic welcome where the conversation consisted of abruptly being asked when I booked and to close the shower door so the fire alarm is not set off has led me to feel ripped off and that customer experience is not a priority.

Stayed here for two nights. Top visit, made brilliant by Jay behind the bar who was professional funny and represented the business really well - recommended and a credit to any business. Look forward to coming back soon hopefully. Hotel accommodation was ok but the asset to this place is the staff in the restaurant / bar, and our exposure was from Jay

Really resent being asked to pay extra for my dog on the pretext of the additional cleaning, only to find long human hairs on the dressing table and on the floor which made its way into the bed. Even had a hair on our throw which we took with us! Pointed it out to the owner who said 'she would tell her', (meaning the cleaner!?) We declined the extra £20 for breakfast as it totally put us off the general hygiene. The room was also dark, dingey, old fashioned and the bathroom smelt strongly of mould. Definitely not worth the rate, will not return. Woburn is lovely but there are much better places to stay we would say.

Stayed in the Hayloft apartment which was great foe the 5 of us rather than paying for 3 separate rooms. Lovely village, location of hotel excellent. Apartment had all we needed, kitchen well equipped tea, coffee & biscuits provided. It was clean and tidy and bed’s comfortable. Its nothing grand but for a short stay I recommend. Lovely friendly staff and a great breakfast!!
Rooms were fine for our short stay and breakfast great.

We stayed here for 4 nights over the F1 weekend in the Hayloft apartment which is 3 bedrooms & a shared bathroom. The apartment is shabby & needs a good clean. None of the bedrooms have mirrors in them. The wardrobe in 1 room is not fastened to the wall, it wobbles when you open the door & could easily fall on top of someone, the missing rail on the landing at the top of the stairs leaves a hole large enough for a child to fall through. The bathroom is of a very poor standard with mouldy, black grouting in several places, broken skirting boards and an exposed cable going up into the roof. The toilet flush doesn’t work well & is inadequate for 3 people all trying to get ready in a morning / evening. |One of the bedrooms is above the laundry room & we were woken up every morning between 5,30am -6am by a door slamming loudly several times. |You expect some noise when staying in a pub but Saturday evening was dreadful with excessive noise until past 1am, with swearing & what sounded like a fight under the bedroom. Surely as a host you would have some awareness of what was going on & think about your paying guests comfort? |We had read good things about breakfast but the only choice was a full English which appeared to have been plated up some time before it was actually served as the beans were stuck to the plate & the rest of it was very dry & the bacon was so hard you couldn’t cut through it. |The pub closes at 5pm on a Sunday so this is a hotel where you can’t get anything to eat or drink after that time! We weren’t told of this when we checked in. There’s no one around in the evenings so if you had a problem or emergency you have to fend for yourself. |
