A real mixed bag. Great location for what we needed (access to Bletchley Park). Room comfortable and clean, bathroom and little tired. Bar and restaurant chaotic but not busy, just not well managed. Order system issues delaying everything. Basics missed such as clearing tables from drinks, adhering to tables times and food delivery. Missed opportunities to sell/deliver refreshments. Food not quite matching description given in menu (eg sourdough bread being actually white sliced!). Breakfast was great. A stay of 2 halves!

What a lovely, comfortable quite 2 nights we spent here. We booked it more or less last minute and so pleased we did.||All the staff are so helpful and friendly, I couldn't work out how to join the free Wi-Fi, so a young lady came to our room and got us connected in no time at all.||We had a beautiful twin bedded room over looking fields, so very quite, lovely, beds which were very comfortable, and both the bedroom and bathroom, were nice and warm. Plenty of plugs to charge all our technology.||The restaurant was closed to a private party on Friday and it doesn't open Saturday or Sunday so we ate at the pub just across the road on both nights.||Breakfast was plenty and set us up for the day. If I had to make a criticism, it would be that the cups both in the room and at breakfast are very small. That said we would definitely return if we need to be in the area

Staff letting downstairs door slam shut at 5.30am is never going to please guests.||It’s an IK place but if they fixed up a few small things it would seem a lot better.||Aspects of the room, such as underfloor heating, were very nice. Having a TV that actually worked would have been nice. I ended up watching something on my tablet.

An exceptional hotel. Efficient staff, really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms of all of our group were really comfortable with excellent facilities. A pleasant bar with good range of drinks. Really wonderful Full English breakfast, very reasonably priced. Will definitely stay again.

A very quiet and relaxing hotel. Our room overlooked the common and we were visited regularly by cows, sheep and the occasional woodpecker. Our room was comfortable and clean.||We didn’t use the main restaurant but ate one evening in the bar. Food was average and not a great choice. There is an excellent pub 5 minutes walk away as well as a chain restaurant a little further away next to the Grand Union Canal ( ideal if you have kids).||One annoying thing was we had to pay for the food and drink as we went, so for dinner, sweet and two drinks we had to make 4 credit card transactions. Can’t understand why you can’t charge to the room like most other hotels of this class.||Breakfast was included in our room rate and there was a good selection of hot and cold food.||The Staff were all friendly and engaging.||If we stay in the area again, we will certainly use this hotel.

The website, Google and TripAdvisor details are all wrong - they are apparently for the previous owner, and the hotel has changed a lot since then. ||The hotel is ok, if very tired and in need of some maintenance and modernisation. The shower was broken and soaked the bathroom, no plug sockets by the bed, and instead of using the restaurant, food was instead being served in the bar. We were told we had to order and pay for food at the bar, but the table next to us had table service. All a little strange.|The bar has a limited and very basic menu, although quality was good. Same with the wine selection. Breakfast (actually served in the restaurant) was very nice, although food was being cooked in tiny batches so kept running out which was very frustrating.|It's an ok hotel, just set your expectations much lower than what you'd expect from your web research.

One thing which really gets me wound up is a cold shower in the morning…. Yep the shower tricked me into a little warmth as I got in, and then just as I was about to wash my hair… stone cold. Why, why , why…. How hard is it to have a hotel with hot water - it’s pretty essential in my opinion. ||I then go down for a hugely mediocre breakfast. It’s like a ghost town down there, maybe there is a reason… I’m ‘greeted’ by a guy sat hunched on stool looking at his phone, takes room number and then says nothing, so you make your way to a seat and he buries his head back in his phone. ||The food… a good range but all feel like they come out each day and go back in. The pastries were tough and stone cold, cooked breakfast was distinctly average. Poor filter coffee and that highly artificial juice. With so few people coming in they’d be better to cook to order rather than leave the food to dry out and rubberise in the chafing dishes. When you need to use a knife to saw your poached egg, and copious amounts of sauce to wash down your dried sausage, you surely know things need to change.||Not a great start to a long day at work.||The hotel itself is also showing its age everywhere.

This is a beautuful hotel, with very spacious room, in a beautiful setting. We didn't sleep well because of the noise from bathroom extractor fan which stayed on all the time, the constant buzz kept us awake.
