Superb.
An old (1750s) house, in a beautiful, quiet rural location in the Yorkshire Wolds. The house has been carefully restored and updated, maintaining its character, but with modern facilities. Our room (the Miss Davy suite) looked out over the garden and on to a classic pastoral scene, complete with sheep. The room was tastefully furnished, in character, and was immaculate. The bathroom was HUGE, with a large, walk-in shower.

The owners, Katrina and Derek, made us so welcome. They are delightful, genuine people, who clearly enjoy what they do, and they do it extremely well. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of cereals, fresh fruit yogurt and so on, and an extensive cooked breakfast menu. Again, really well done - cooked, presented and served.

I really cannot speak highly enough of The Wold Cottage. It is a true delight.

My wife and I spent a delightful week at The Wold Cottage, which offers a combination of luxury and homeliness. Rooms are beautifully decorated. Every possible comfort has been thought of. Breakfasts are bespoke and delicious. The proprietors are deeply rooted in the area and always ready to supply information about places to visit. They are helpful in every way, without ever being intrusive. Altogether, a "home form home"

Stopped in The Garden Room at Wold Cottage for a long weekend, we received a lovely welcome from Katrina and her husband Derek who showed us to the cottage which far exceeded our expectations, from the smell of baking bread to the welcome pack of supplies and treats all was superb, it’s a very spacious cottage equipped with everything you would ever need, including a large smart TV, log burner, underfloor heating, super comfortable bed, electric recliner couch and of course the lovely hot tub, this is probably one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

We stayed in The Robson family room for 3 nights with breakfast. |The rooms were spacious, modern and clean. We had everything we needed. The grounds of the property are stunning. ||The breakfast was beautiful with a good choice from cereals, fruits, yoghurts/jams, fruit juices and your choice of cooked breakfast. Our last day we had some beautiful fresh bread. ||Thank you for a lovely stay. ||Our 2 young boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We would definitely stay again.

The best B&B ever. Wold Cottage is a special place full of superlatives. A Georgian manor farmhouse surrounded by beautiful extensive farmland land and gardens worthy of a stately house. Derek and Katrina have created a haven of tranquility and their experience and professionalism is exceptional as proven by their many awards and returning clientele. Unobtrusively, they work hard to enhance your individual experience - from tea and cake on arrival, an impromptu cold shandy on a hot afternoon, to a slice of freshly baked bread straight from the oven or a handful of figs from the walled garden. The delicious breakfast menu choices are brought to you by Derek often with a large helping of Yorkshire humour.||A mine of local information, Katrina can assist with recommendations for pubs and restaurants, to nature reserves, gardens and many other places of interest and outdoor pursuits. Do book directly by telephone, Katrina give you a best price and enjoy a quick chat to find out if you have any particular wishes so she can accommodate them ….. early or late check-in, celebrations, surprises, etc.||Can’t recommend this wonderful home-from-home enough. The only negative is having to leave at the end of your stay.

Mu husband and I stayed in the 'Garden Room' at wold Cottage for a week, and it was all just perfect. Such gorgeous, well equipped accommodation in stunning gardens, and so well placed for visiting Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, and Mrs Gray was so helpful and kind.
