The service was highly unexpected. As soon as I arrived, the staffing team provided great comfort and were very accommodating. Made the checking in process very clear and knowledgeable for the local areas and different restaurants that we could try. The room was also clean, cozy and well equipped with teas coffees etc. Very pleasant stay. Didn’t get a chance for the complimentary breakfast which was a real shame.

Whilst the room was clean, this hotel and its facilities are extremely basic and I think is home to a number of long term guests. People arguing until the early hours was not conducive for a good nights sleep either. It is cheap and cheerful however the facilities, decoration, ablutions and general presentation require a good dose of modernisation. Merlin board shower panels are leaking meaning the damp is coming through the adjoining walls. We won't be stopping again. Staff were very friendly though.

This was one of the worst hotels we stayed in. Communication was poor. Room was cold - when we queried this we were told heating only came on bet 1700 and 2200. Room was tired and dark. One bulb out. No bedside lights. Lit bathroom mirror didnt work. Lever to operate bath/shower was broken leading to water spilling on floor that i then mopped with the bath mat. Housekeeping consisted of emptingy the bins, not changing the wet bath mat so i had to go back to reception for more. Tv had no signal. When we queried this we were told it 'may have been the storm - and maintenance werent on'. Breakfast was abysmall. Photos showing granola and jam pots are false. No communication or acknowledgement from waitress as to how things worked. You tick a piece of paper for what you want. We had to ask for butter to be told they had run out and were then given cooking margarine. Breakfast came individually. My husband was presented with his to be told they had run out of sausages and mushrooms. We walked out. Yes its cheap but we booked it for location and on previous reviews which dont accurately reflect what its like.
