Very nice room, clean, tidy and spacious. Stayed one night, got there late and left after breakfast so not to in-depth of a review. Chrissy was friendly, gave us a nice greeting and makes a lovely breakfast. Wish we had stayed a few more nights. Only issue was the hall had a whiff of what I thought to be cigarette smoke. But the room was smell free and the bed was comfy. Recommend staying here.

Our room and ensuite was very clean and stylish over looking the beautiful back garden and fields. The room was a good size, and we were always warm. We had everything we needed for our stay, even tea and coffee. We all slept very well. Our host was really lovely and was very pleasant, and was looked after well. Breakfast was amazing, plenty to choose from and the cooked breakfast was delicious 😋. Our breakfast table was all laid out each morning ready for when we came down. Couldn't fault it at all. Would highly recommend this B&B

We were welcomed like old friends. The room was lovely, warm, plenty of storage. The bathroom was very luxurious and Boo, our dog loved her stay too. We didn't feel like we were being watched, like you get at some b&b.
Breakfast was very nice in a great room with a wood burning stove.
Beautiful surroundings, in a perfect setting. We will be back

Had a lovely stay here over the weekend. very nice B&B, rooms were spot on and a very big garden. breakfast was lovely. ||||Chrissy went above and beyond for us while we was there, very friendly and helpful and made it a very special welcoming for my sons birthday. we will definitely be staying at this place when we come back to the area.

Very comfortable room with a double bed with a firm mattress, plus a private spacious attached ensuite including a bath / shower. Very quiet location in the countryside, with lovely gardens. Cooked breakfast was delicious with yogurts, cereals, fruit juices, and fresh fruit available. Good filtered coffee and green tea. Chrissy lives on site and is attentive. Spent time to have a chat. Local to good restaurants (e.g. Thompsons Fish and Chips / Fish restaurant nearby) and local historic attractions / walks. Only about 8 miles from York. Recommended if you want a homely B&B experience.

We had a great stay at Birk House. It was a last minute booking to extend our holiday just a little bit longer and was by far the best place we stayed during our trip. The place was recommended to me by a family member but my partner had been initially unsure by the remoteness. However there's a permissive track that runs to Stamford Bridge for the local amenities and bus to York, and in all honesty the peace and serenity of the place was really what we needed. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable in all regards. The en-suite was large with a great bath & shower. You couldn't fault the breakfast or the hospitality! Sadly we could only stay the night...but we had a lovely stay and we will definately be back.

We only stayed for 1 night, I wish it was for longer. Our time here was very relaxing and tranquil. It was like home from home, breakfast was amazing. Our room was lovely with a veiw overlooking the beautiful garden and fields. Chrissy the landlady was very attentive, nothing was to much trouble for her, she catered for my dairy intolerance. Not just dairy but gluten free, vegan or vegetarian. I can defo recommend staying at Birk house bed & breakfast to those that love or like clean fresh air away from the inner city road fumes. Thank you Chrissy for making our stay enjoyable and memorable.

Quiet and peaceful rural surroundings. Very friendly welcome to a lovely bedroom with a firm mattress, perfect for my back. Plenty of tea and coffee on hand and a five minute drive to great pub grub. York centre is only 15 minutes drive.
