Absolutely brilliant, this was our first visit to this pub. The welcome we received was warm and friendly. The service was outstanding and the food was insane and the waitress that served us was lovely and extremely helpful! The recommendation of the cottage pie croquettes didn’t disappoint! We had those with chicken strips and cheese sharer board for our starter, absolutely beautiful! For mains, I had the salmon wellington and my boyfriend had the mixed grill, again it was just perfect! Thank you for a lovely evening, we will be back!

Great staff! New management team were amazing and couldn’t have done more for us! 🌟 Had the steak and ale pie and wow, best one I’ve had in a long time. The Guinness was good too 🍻

Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Felt very much at home. I'm originally from Lytham but now live in Mamchester. We always used to go to Wrea Green and look at the thatched roofs. So it was a nice treat to show my partner one of these childhood haunts. He now wants to move there haha

Kat was brilliant as always. We weren’t sure what to order from the new specials as they all sounded so good. We went with Kats recommendation of the crispy pork belly with cottage pie croquettes as a side and were not disappointed. Saved space for the special vanilla custard slice!

Went for Sunday lunch. Kept waiting on arrival for someone to come and seat us. Didn't seem to be any staff around. Our table was in a dark area and the writing in the menu was so small we struggled to read it. Kept waiting again to place our order, only seemed to be 2 staff members working. We noticed others waiting a long time to also place their orders. Sunday lunch was very poor. The roast beef was sliced so thinly and spread all over the plate. We had 3 small half roast potatoes and the rest was veg. The Yorkshire pudding was very well done and I couldn't cut it with my knife. Had a very small amount of gravy so we asked for extra that came in a small jug and was only a third filled. It was apparent they were cutting back on their servings to try and reap more profit. Nobody came to ask if everything was OK with the meal and we waited and waited for our plates to be cleared so we could order desert. Unfortunately nobody came so we got up, paid the bill and left. An extremely dissapointing visit and we will not be returning.

First time I've been here in 10yrs .. glad I've been back .. what a lovely place. Nice cosy environment. Professional and helpful staff.

Food was lovely too.

Starters: I had butter nut squash and sweet potato soup, nice and thick seasoned well.

Other half had creamy garlic mushrooms which he must have enjoyed because I didn't get a look in.

We also shared some bread and olive's.

Mains: He ordered off the specials board or was a seafood mix grill which he really enjoyed.

I had chicken BLT ciabatta, really nice meal, chicken was lovely and tender, skin on fries were really tasty and a nice refreshing.

Dessert we both had the triple chocolate brownie. I had the mini version with a coffee.

Excellent food, excellent service, can't ask for anything more.

We will be back in the near future
