My wife and I had a very mixed experience on Saturday the 8th of February. The waitress serving us was very attentive and friendly, until she wasn't. We had delicious starters and equally delicious mains. The service was great, until we finished our mains. When the waitress cleared our plates, we eventually decided to have a look at the dessert menu, to which we were told they'd be brought right over. They weren't. We waited about 15 minutes and the desert menu didn't arrive, so we went up to the bar and found a couple. Then, after another 15 minutes of waiting, no one came to take our dessert order, so we then flagged down a separate waitress and asked for the bill. It's not like we were sat in a corner out of the way, we were sat right next to the kitchen, our original waitress walked past multiple times and didn't check in with us. It's as if the staff just stopped doing their job after a certain point. We've eaten at The Langford Inn a number of times before, and it's always been brilliant, but for some reason this experience was underwhelming, and left us feeling quite disappointed. We won't be rushing back any time soon…

Went for a Sunday roast, the pub itself is lovely, beautifully set out and looked like there was a fantastic beer garden to the rear.

The roast was fine, but on the higher end from a price point and so expected it to be perfect, which it wasn't. Cauliflower cheese was delicious and cheesy, the veg was all nice. But the beef was tough, it was cooked rare. Which is fine as long as the meat is tender but unfortunately it wasn't, I had to ask for a steak knife to be able to cut it.

It was extremely busy and the serving team were a little stretched, it took around 20 minutes from ordering a drink for it to arrive, but I put this down to a busy service.

I would definitely give it another go and expect in the summer it would be an amazing place to spend an afternoon in the sun, but for the price point both service and food need to be spot on. Which unfortunately wasn't the case on this occasion.

This is a gem of a place to stay, with incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient staff, lovely rooms and delicious food. I stayed here on two occasions for work, each time for a couple of nights and loved the place. Highly recommended and for what it offers, very good value for money.

Lots of food options weren't available and the food available was expensive for what it was. I had the schnitzel and although nice, it was just the schnitzel, egg and Brussel sprout, which I felt didn't feel like a main meal on its own. The service from the waitress was very good. The pub itself looked nice and clean. I just expected more from the food, which may have been different if they had the options we wanted.

We went here for Sunday lunch to celebrate my and my sister’s birthday. We chose it because my sister had previously had a positive experience there, but unfortunately our meal didn’t live up to that standard.
We waited over an hour for our food - previous reviews have commented on the need for more staff and I completely agree. We had booked a table. We waited a very long time to order, and were seated by the door being blasted by cold air everytime it opened. My dad’s drink was forgotten, then after the endless wait for food my uncle’s food was forgotten too.
The food itself was below expectations. The vegetarian Wellington came with a gravy that was very salty and not enjoyable. All the roast meals came with a sliver of carrot, three small potatoes and a small portion of kale. This was the first time I’ve ever had a roast dinner in a pub and come away hungry! My mum had beef and said it was too tough and over cooked.
The staff were nice enough and apologised for the mistakes but overall it was a disappointing experience. We all agreed that we won’t go back.

A lovely place to stay, far enough out of Bristol to still feel out in the countryside but still be convenient for everything you might need. The rooms are comfy and the food has always been pretty good.

What a fantastic place to stay and eat. The rooms were so cozy and detached from the main pub building.
The staff were professional, happy and eager to please.
The food was well cooked and tasty however a little pricey.
Would I return....100%

Firstly, very overpriced food given the quality of the food presented to us.
It was a bit of a mixed bag.
Out of our party of four, one had a starter and said it was delicious, if not a fairly tiny portion.
For mains, there were two Pies of the Day, pleasant enough unexciting flavours , but not worth the £20 price tag, and two ox cheek ‘wellingtons’. The pastry was dry and overcooked, almost burnt underneath, and the filling was bland and paste-like with an under-seasoned, tasteless gravy. Accompanied by a large pile of , again, underseasoned bland mashed potato, the star of the show was one glazed carrot.
Two puddings were nicely executed and very tasty, whilst with the affogato the espresso was cold, so the end result was a cold slop.

Considering we only had 2.5 pints of beer between us, and four coffees, to have to pay £40 per head for an indifferent meal was steep.
Service was included, but , although a pleasant enough young man, he was slow, with items arriving at intervals, forgetting orders and having to return, and the coffee arriving 10 minutes before the puddings. As service was added we did not have the option of giving what we thought fair.
The restaurant was rather cool, albeit on a cold day, and lacked character.
All-in-all, a disappointing lunch and we will not be returning or recommending it to friends.
